According to the Quang Truc Commune Police in Lam Dong Province, recent reports indicate a rise in high-tech criminal activities. Fraudsters are exploiting regulations related to deferments and exemptions from military and police service obligations to scam and steal assets.

These scammers primarily target university and college students eager to postpone their military service, as well as families unfamiliar with the military recruitment process.

Their common tactic involves impersonating military or local police officers. They contact families with eligible young members for military examination and gradually execute their fraudulent scheme as follows:

They demand payments for fictitious fees such as “file verification” and “military deferment processing.”

Victims are lured into malicious links like “Draft Order Lookup” or “Download E-Summons,” which contain malware designed to steal personal and financial information.

Law enforcement confirms these are sophisticated scams aimed at stealing personal data and assets, causing public alarm. These activities severely disrupt the 2026 military recruitment process and negatively impact local security.

Quang Truc Commune Police advises residents:

Avoid accessing unfamiliar links;

Ignore instructions from self-proclaimed “military officers”;

Verify any suspicions directly with the Commune Military Command or Police;

Never share personal details, OTP codes, or bank account information with anyone.

As these scams evolve with increasing sophistication, the Quang Truc Commune Police urges heightened vigilance. Protect your personal information to safeguard local security and support effective military recruitment efforts.
