River Overpass Connecting Nghệ An and Hà Tĩnh Provinces Prior to Long-awaited Official Opening
After more than 2 years of construction, the Hung Duc Bridge spanning the Lam River connects the provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh on the North-South Expressway and is nearing completion. It is expected that the bridge will be linked together in the coming days and will be completed by the end of April 2024.
Nguyen Quang Trung, the engineer in charge of Hung Duc Bridge at Cienco 4 Corporation, said that the most difficult part of the construction of the bridge is the pile-driving process in the middle of the Lam River. Each span is supported by 22 piles, with a depth of 50m.
“There are still 2 remaining connection points in the Lam River, which are expected to be completed soon, allowing the bridge to be opened to traffic,” said engineer Nguyen Quang Trung.
On the territory of Ha Tinh province, the 2.2km long approach road has been completed.
In recent days, the construction companies of Hung Duc Bridge have mobilized machinery and workers to complete the bridge on schedule.
In addition to focusing on the remaining connection points on the river, workers from the construction companies of Hung Duc Bridge are also cleaning the bridge deck to carry out the next steps such as installing the railing, road surfacing, and other auxiliary works.
