The main contributor to the market’s uptrend continues to be the large-cap group, led by VCB. Closing, Vietcombank shares increased 1.7% to 96,000 VND/unit. The return of the “elder brother” VCB spread positive trading to the entire sector, with 26/27 stocks increasing, only EIB stayed unchanged.

The common increase in the sector was only 1-2%, but the simultaneous traction from the pillar group had a significant impact on the main index. The banking group with VCB, VPB, MBB, ACB, CTG, BID dominated the leading group. FPT, VIC, DGC also contributed to the impact.

In just 1 week, DGC of Duc Giang Chemicals had 2 sessions at the limit up, today continuing to reach a peak at 127,200 VND/share. DGC’s price increased by 35% since the beginning of 2024 and increased by 160% from the recent bottom in May 2023. DGC’s market capitalization reached 48,200 billion VND (1.9 billion USD), the highest level ever. Noteworthy trading in DGC coincided with the information that the company started selling lithium batteries – the final product in the electric vehicle industry.

Many midcap stocks hit the limit up in today’s session.

Money also returned to stock companies, focusing on small-cap stocks, pushing VDS, VIX, ORS, VCI to the limit up. SSI reclaimed the number 1 position in liquidity on the whole market, with a trading value of over 1,334 billion VND, significantly different from the stock in 2nd place – HPG, with 897 billion VND. Securities group dominated the top of high liquidity, with 4/5 representatives, respectively SSI, VND, VIX, VCI.
