According to THACO representatives, the price adjustments are a result of foreign exchange rate fluctuations, particularly the increase in the value of the US dollar, which has driven up the cost of imported components.
As a result of the adjustments, the latest Kia Sonet prices for May are higher by 5-10 million VND compared to the previous month. The Kia Sonet now has a starting price of 524 million VND for the 1.5 Deluxe version. The top-of-the-line Kia Sonet 1.5 Premium has a new price of 584 million VND, an increase of 10 million VND.

Kia Sonet
The Sonet is currently Kia’s best-selling model in Vietnam. According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the Kia Sonet sold 1,889 units in the first quarter of 2024. It is also the best-selling A-segment SUV in Vietnam today.
For the Kia Carnival, only the 3.5-liter gasoline-powered version retains its price of 1,759 billion VND. All other variants have new prices that are 10-20 million VND higher than before.

Kia Carnival
The Kia Carnival 2.2D Luxury 7-seater and 8-seater variants have seen price increases of 20 million VND and 10 million VND, respectively, to 1,189 billion VND. The top-of-the-line Kia Carnival 2.2D Signature 7-seater now has a price of 1,409 billion VND, 20 million VND higher than before.
Despite the price hike, the Kia Carnival remains one of the most popular MPVs in Vietnam. Sales of the Kia Carnival have even surpassed many cheaper MPVs. In the first quarter of 2024, a total of 1,105 Kia Carnival units were sold. In the MPV segment, the Kia Carnival is second only to the Mitsubishi Xpander and Suzuki XL7 in terms of sales.
For Kia Carens models, the diesel-powered variants have been discontinued, with THACO only keeping the 1.5L and 1.4L turbocharged gasoline-powered variants.

Kia Carens
The starting price of the Kia Carens for May 2024 remains unchanged as the lowest manual transmission variant’s price has not been adjusted. Additionally, the 1.5G Luxury variant also maintains its price. However, all other variants have received price increases of 10 million VND.
According to VAMA, THACO sold a total of 2,524 Kia vehicles in March 2
