LPBank Becomes the Main Sponsor of the National Football Championship: LPBank V.League 1 – 2024/25

Since its inaugural season in 1980 and its transition to professionalism in the 2000/2001 season, the V.League 1 Vietnam Football Championship has solidified its position as the country’s premier, most professional, captivating, and eagerly anticipated annual football tournament. Notably, the league’s success in recent years extends beyond its on-pitch prowess, as evidenced by the diverse range of sponsors who have joined forces with the organizers. This multifaceted support has been instrumental in propelling the league’s continuous development and expansion.

In a significant development, the Vietnam Locust Bank (LPBank) and FPT Telecom have joined forces to sponsor the LPBank V.League 1 2024/25 season. This landmark agreement was formalized at a prestigious event held at the FPT Tower, the headquarters of the FPT Group, and witnessed by representatives from the Department of Sports, the Vietnam Football Federation, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), and FPT Telecom. With this partnership, LPBank has officially become the main sponsor of the LPBank V.League 1 2024/25 season.

Representatives of LPBank, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc – Deputy General Director, and FPT Telecom, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh – General Director, finalize the agreement under the witness of leaders from the Department of Sports, the Vietnam Football Federation, LPBank, FPT, and VPF.

This signing ceremony marks the beginning of a collaborative journey between LPBank, VPF, and FPT Telecom, united by a shared vision for the advancement of Vietnamese football. According to the partnership agreement, the LPBank V.League 1 – 2024/25 season will benefit from substantial financial backing, bolstered by the credibility and stature of LPBank. This sponsorship is expected to elevate the league to new heights, fostering exceptional growth and professionalism in Vietnamese football while contributing significantly to the nation’s football achievements in the years to come.

Most recently, LPBank has put forward a proposal to enhance the physical fitness of Vietnamese footballers, aiming to improve their physical conditioning and achieve ideal body shapes over the next 5 to 10 years. Additionally, LPBank has actively sponsored a series of events promoting the Brazil – Vietnam Football and Tourism Festival in Da Nang and co-organized a friendly match between the Hanoi Public Security Club and the Brazilian Legends team at Hanoi’s Hang Day Stadium.

Welcoming the new main sponsor, Mr. Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of VFF and Chairman of VPF’s Board of Directors, expressed his gratitude: “VPF and FPT Telecom are honored to partner with LPBank in the upcoming journey of Vietnam’s highest-level club tournament. The LPBank V.League 1 – 2024/25 season, with the valuable support of LPBank, is scheduled to kick off on September 14, 2024, and conclude in June 2025. This year, the total prize money for the top three teams in the LPBank V.League 1-2024/25 amounts to VND 9.5 billion. Specifically, the champion club will receive a trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of VND 5 billion, while the first and second runners-up will be awarded silver and bronze medals, along with cash prizes of VND 3 billion and VND 1.5 billion, respectively.

A key highlight of the upcoming LPBank V.League 1 seasons is the significant investment in technology and professional expertise. Following the official handover of two VAR vehicles sponsored by FIFA to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), VPF will devise a plan to deploy these vehicles in the Northern, Central, and Southern regions of the country.

As LPBank celebrates its 16th anniversary, it has firmly established itself as one of the 14 most important banks in Vietnam, ranking among the top 500 banks globally for brand value in 2024. The bank has garnered numerous prestigious awards both domestically and internationally.

On July 15, LPBank unveiled its new name, officially becoming the Vietnam Locust Bank.
