Mount Ba Den: A Unique Tourist Destination
Four years ago, the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and Sun Group officially inaugurated the modern cable car system at the Ba Den National Tourist Area after a construction period of 1.5 years. This cable car system not only reduced the time required to reach the “rooftop of Southern Vietnam” and the Ba Den Temple but also opened up new opportunities for the tourism industry in Tay Ninh to flourish.
According to Sun Group, with a total investment of over 2,000 billion VND in the first phase, the Ba Den Mountain cable car system was designed and constructed by Doppelmayr, the world’s leading cable car company. It consists of two main routes.
Subsequently, Sun Group introduced two grand spiritual constructions on the summit of Mount Ba Den: the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha and the Di Lac Buddha. These large-scale constructions are notable for their size, and on clear days, the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha can be seen from afar by the locals of Tay Ninh.
Located in the northeast of Tay Ninh city, Tay Ninh province, about 11km from the city center, Mount Ba Den is the tallest mountain in Southern Vietnam, standing at 986 meters above sea level. It has been recognized as a National Tourist Area by the Prime Minister and is considered the symbol of Tay Ninh province, as described by the Tay Ninh Tourism Information and Promotion Center.
Mount Ba Den is a renowned landmark and a popular tourist destination. From its peak, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the vast plains that surround the outskirts of Tay Ninh city.
The mountain also attracts visitors with its unique complex of temples, pagodas, shrines, and towers that reflect the cultural blend of Buddhism and folk beliefs. Scattered across the mountain, from its base to the summit, these structures create a captivating spiritual atmosphere.
Mount Ba Den is home to several notable temples, including the Buddha Temple, Chua Hang, Chua Ha, Chua Trung, and Chua Van Son. Additionally, there are small caves such as Thanh Long Cave, Ba Co Cave, and Ba Tuan Cave, adding to the mystical allure of the mountain.
With the Prime Minister’s decision to approve the master plan for the development of the Ba Den National Tourist Area until 2035, Tay Ninh is poised to transform Mount Ba Den into a unique and captivating tourist destination, offering a diverse range of products and tourism types, including traditional, spiritual, ecological, resort, and entertainment options.
