The Mid-Autumn Festival of 2024 is set to be more exciting than ever as the food industry giant, KIDO, launches its Tho Phat brand into the mooncake market for the very first time. With a focus on traditional mooncakes, this new venture is sure to shake up the season's festivities.

Mr. Tran Le Nguyen, CEO of KIDO Group (HOSE: KDC), shared: “Before returning for the 2024 season, we surveyed a lot of opinions from different generations. 50% of them said they loved traditional mooncakes because they reminded them of their roots and the moments of reunion with their families.”

Therefore, KIDO has decided to enter Tho Phat – a well-known bun brand that the corporation has just acquired for more than VND 1,000 billion for 68% of its capital – into this year’s mooncake race. In addition, the company will also continue to promote mooncakes under the brand KIDO’s Bakery.

Not just stopping at the mooncake market, KIDO also sets an ambitious goal for Tho Phat in the 2024-2028 period. The corporation plans to build a system of 1,000 agents in 63 provinces and develop 50,000 selling points nationwide. Especially, KIDO also aims to develop 12,000 miniBAO stores.

For the year 2024, KIDO sets a revenue plan of VND 13,000 billion, up 50% compared to 2023. Profit before tax is estimated at VND 800 billion, 2.5 times higher than in 2023.
