According to the Management Board of Hai Phong Economic Zone, on August 13, the board hosted a meeting with a delegation of 22 Chinese enterprises. The purpose of this visit was for the delegation to survey and select a site for constructing a high-tech factory that manufactures components and assembles wind turbine generators in the tax-free, logistics, and industrial Lach Huyen area of Hai Phong. This location is deemed to have great potential for developing a high-tech product supply chain, especially in the field of renewable energy.
Notably, the Chinese delegation showed keen interest in the policies offered to businesses operating in the field of high-tech product manufacturing, including wind power.

During the meeting, Mr. Si Zhong Wu, Director of Goldwind International Southeast Asia, shared that through this practical working session and survey, they aim to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in Hai Phong city. Goldwind ranked among the top 3 largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world in 2023. The enterprise is also the number one wind turbine producer in China and has maintained its position in the global top 3 for eight consecutive years.
Goldwind has a presence in 38 countries across 6 continents, employing over 11,000 people worldwide, including more than 3,000 R&D and technical staff. The company has supplied over 47,000 wind turbines globally, with a total installed capacity exceeding 97GW. Goldwind’s turbines are renowned for their efficiency, reliability, and durability, setting new industry standards. Additionally, the company’s O&M service capacity surpasses 56GW.
In Vietnam, Goldwind International Vietnam is a member of Goldwind International, which belongs to the Goldwind Group. Goldwind has provided wind turbines in 6 provinces and cities across the country. According to the Vietnam Energy newspaper, as of now, Goldwind has had no violations or accidents in any of its projects in Vietnam.

Hai Phong has been a significant recipient of foreign investment, with 975 valid foreign investment projects totaling registered capital of USD 30.65 billion. Among these, there are 405 projects invested by Chinese investors, with a total investment of USD 6.14 billion. The primary investment sectors for Chinese enterprises include electricity, electronics, textiles, footwear, plastics, packaging, and chemicals.
Currently, Hai Phong has 2 industrial parks with Chinese-invested enterprises: Do Son Industrial Park and An Duong Industrial Park. Chinese enterprises in these parks export USD 5.34 billion worth of goods annually and employ 58,000 workers.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, during the period from 2023 to 2025, it is necessary to put into operation approximately 19,000 MW of new electricity sources to ensure sufficient power supply.
