Districts and communes have well organized cultural activities, sports, and new attractive traditional festivals at cultural and tourist sites.

Tourism service businesses and accommodation facilities in the city focus on improving service quality, offering promotional programs, and special activities to serve tourists during the Lunar New Year.

Representatives of the leadership of Do Son district inform that during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse in 2024, the number of tourists increased, mainly to cultural and spiritual tourist sites and to attend the early-year festivals. Among them, a portion of foreign tourists (mostly from South Korea) came to play golf during the Lunar New Year.

It is expected that in January, the number of tourists to Do Son will continue to increase due to the psychology of local residents and neighboring provinces coming to historical and cultural sites, spiritual tourism, and traditional festivals during the Lunar New Year.

The leadership of Cat Hai district also said that during the Lunar New Year holiday, the locality welcomed more than 23,000 tourists (an increase of 211% compared to the Lunar New Year of 2023), including more than 10,400 international tourists.

According to the leadership of a tourism business in Cat Ba, in winter in general and during the Lunar New Year in particular, the locality welcomes a relatively high number of foreign tourists (mostly from Europe).

The reason is that foreign tourists do not celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year according to the lunar calendar like Vietnam. They do not mind the cold weather in the North and enjoy the tranquility and wilderness when visiting and sleeping on the bay. Many cruise service businesses often face the situation of fully booked rooms.
