Hanoi’s first urban railway, the Nhon-Hanoi Railway, has seen an impressive number of passengers since its opening on August 8th. According to Hanoi Metro, over 420,000 passengers have ridden the metro line as of August 15th.

Hanoi Metro leaders attribute the growing number of daily passengers to the convenience and efficiency of this new mode of public transportation.
Specifically, on the first day of commercial operation (August 8), with 170 train trips, there were 37,244 passengers onboard. This number increased to 44,280 passengers on August 15.
Notably, during the weekend, the number of passengers surged to 66,087 on Saturday (August 10) and an impressive 100,515 on Sunday (August 11), showcasing the popularity of the new metro line among Hanoi residents and visitors alike.
“In the first seven days of operation, the Nhon-Hanoi metro line served 393,168 passengers. This is a significantly higher number compared to the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line, which had only 165,824 passengers in its first week of commercial operation,” added the Hanoi Metro leader.

Important Reminders for Passengers of the Nhon-Hanoi Metro Line
Hanoi Railway Company has implemented strict rules and regulations for passengers using the metro service.
Passengers are required to purchase tickets according to the specified regulations, scan their tickets at the ticket gates, and present valid tickets upon request by company staff.
Passengers are also expected to maintain order and cleanliness within the stations and onboard the trains. Giving up seats for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities is encouraged. Additionally, passengers should refrain from loud conversations, arguing, or engaging in any disorderly conduct within the stations or onboard the trains.
It is important to note that the stations will not serve individuals who are intoxicated, mentally unstable, suffering from infectious diseases, or carrying illnesses that restrict their mobility as advised by a physician.
Passengers are prohibited from carrying bulky goods, live animals, or perishable items with strong odors. Smoking is strictly forbidden within the stations and onboard the trains. Furthermore, weapons, flammable or explosive materials, and any items prohibited by law are not allowed onboard.

The Nhon-Hanoi metro line has attracted passengers of all ages, from children to adults.
Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult. In the absence of an adult companion, the company reserves the right to deny service. Passengers with limited mobility are advised to travel with an assistant.
The Nhon-Hanoi metro line, Hanoi’s second operational metro line, spans 12.5 kilometers and includes 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations. The elevated section, from Nhon to Cau Giay, is 8.5 kilometers long, while the underground section, from Cau Giay to Hanoi Station, is 4 kilometers in length.
The stations along the route are: Nhon, Minh Khai, Phu Dien, Cau Dien, Le Duc Tho, Dai Hoc Quoc Gia, Chua Ha, and Cau Giay.
During the first 15 days of commercial operation, passengers can ride the metro for free. After this promotional period, passengers can choose from a variety of ticket options, including single-journey tickets, day passes, weekly or monthly passes, group tickets, and electronic IC cards that offer additional benefits.
The standard fare for a single-journey ticket will be 8,000 VND for one station and 12,000 VND for the entire line. A day pass will cost 24,000 VND and will be valid for unlimited rides within a day. Monthly passes are available at 200,000 VND for regular passengers and 100,000 VND for students and seniors. Group tickets are also offered at a discounted rate of 140,000 VND per person per month.
The Nhon-Hanoi metro line offers free rides for privileged passengers, including children under 6, people with disabilities, the elderly above 60, and individuals with meritorious services.
