On the morning of August 25, over 500 guests, including representatives from the Thua Thien Hue provincial government, the Japanese Consulate in Da Nang, local residents, and staff from AEONMALL Vietnam and its group companies, joined hands to plant the first trees at AEON MALL Hue, the most anticipated project in Hue in recent times.

This event is part of AEON Group’s efforts in Thua Thien Hue, contributing to the group’s previous tree-planting programs in 2010 and 2012, with a total of 72,000 trees planted over 34 hectares of forest in Lang Co.

More than 5,000 native tree seedlings from 8 different species were planted, including: Alstonia scholaris, Magnolia grandiflora, Jasminum sambac, Streblus asper, Plumeria rubra, Erythrina variegata, Cinnamomum camphora, and Delonix regia.

“These 5,000 trees will not only contribute to greening the area but also symbolize the prosperity of Central Vietnam and become a symbol of friendship between Japan and Central Vietnam,” shared Mr. Mori Takero, Japanese Consul General in Da Nang.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Bang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, affirmed, “The tree-planting event to build a green environment connected to the local community by AEONMALL Vietnam Company Limited is a meaningful event, demonstrating the company’s role and responsibility in protecting the environment and building a green, clean, and bright Hue City, in line with the orientation of the leaders of Thua Thien Hue Province.”

“AEON’s connection with Vietnam began with reforestation and the construction of 30 elementary schools by the AEON 1% Club Foundation in Thua Thien Hue Province. Notably, we have planted 111,119 trees together, including about 2,000 Sakura trees, the symbol of Japan, which has bloomed in Hanoi. Today’s tree-planting event continues our meaningful activities as we prepare for the grand opening of AEON MALL Hue,” shared Mr. Isobe Daisuke, Director in charge of Overseas Business, AEON MALL Co., Ltd.
