Typhoon Yagi is currently located over the northern part of the South China Sea, about 200 km southeast of Hainan Island, China, and 620 km southeast of Quang Ninh province. The storm is expected to make landfall on September 7 in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa, with the heaviest impact expected from Quang Ninh to Nam Dinh. However, from last night to the early morning, heavy rains and strong winds in Thanh Hoa province caused many trees in the city to uproot and fall.

Around 11:00 PM on September 5, heavy rain and strong winds in Thanh Hoa city caused several large trees in Dong Ve Ward to fall. A young man riding a motorbike was crushed by a falling tree at the intersection of Quang Trung and Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard. The local authorities and rescue teams arrived at the scene promptly to cut the tree and take the victim to the hospital. The authorities and local residents quickly responded to the incident, cutting the tree and ensuring the injured person received medical attention.

On the morning of September 6, heavy rain on Le Loi Avenue in Thanh Hoa city caused water levels to rise, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through.
A tree in Lam Son Square was uprooted.
A tree on Tran Phu Street in Thanh Hoa city was also uprooted.
Vehicles on Le Thanh Tong Street in Thanh Hoa city faced obstacles due to a large fallen tree.
On Trinh Thi Ngoc Lu Street in Thanh Hoa city, fallen branches blocked the road.
The authorities are working to clear the uprooted and fallen trees to ensure the safety of the public and smooth traffic flow.
