The event emphasized the position of SuperPortTM Vietnam as a vital hub connecting the supply chain between China and Southeast Asia, with an ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. It also marked a significant milestone in the development of SuperPortTM Vietnam, aiming to enhance Vietnam’s logistics capabilities while contributing to the country’s climate change goals.

BOOSTING THE CHINA-SOUTHEAST ASIA SUPPLY CHAIN CONNECTIVITY

During the event, guests could envision the future of SuperPortTM Vietnam through the Apple Vision Pro, an advanced spatial computing device. The virtual reality technology showcased the “Park within a ParkTM” model, integrating all road, rail, air, and sea supply chain management services into a single logistics hub. This initiative ensures seamless connectivity, enhances supply chain efficiency, and solidifies SuperPortTM Vietnam’s position as a key player in the region’s logistics industry.

With the provincial leaders, members of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC), leaders of associations and businesses in the region as witnesses, SuperPort Vietnam, a joint venture between YCH Group (Singapore) and T&T Group (Vietnam), unveiled its new vision.

At the event, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of SuperPortTM Vietnam, shared the new vision and development plans for the first SuperPortTM in Southeast Asia. He declared, “By applying advanced technology and breakthrough logistics solutions, we are improving the flow of goods across the region and setting a new standard for sustainable logistics ports in the future. SuperPortTM Vietnam plays a pivotal role in driving Vietnam’s economic growth and strengthening regional connectivity through world-class infrastructure.”

SuperPortTM Vietnam is positioned as a strategic, multi-modal logistics hub, connecting the China-Southeast Asia freight network with global markets through road, rail, air, and sea transportation. We are committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2040, reinforcing Vietnam’s leadership in sustainable development,” said Dr. Yap.

SuperPortTM Vietnam has outlined a plan to achieve net-zero emissions. This plan includes assessing current emissions, upgrading infrastructure with AI and IoT technologies, installing renewable energy systems, and transitioning to electric vehicles for cargo transportation by 2030. Any remaining emissions will be offset through the purchase of renewable energy and carbon credits.

DEVELOPING A SKILLED WORKFORCE FOR THE SUPPLY CHAIN INDUSTRY

SuperPortTM Vietnam is also committed to developing a highly skilled workforce. In collaboration with YCH Group and the Singapore Logistics and Supply Chain Management Institute (SCALA), the project will train 500 logistics professionals through a nine-month talent development program in Singapore.

This initiative aims to prepare a workforce that meets the growing demand for high-quality, tech-savvy human resources in the logistics industry, as Vietnam becomes a crucial hub for electronics manufacturing and R&D.
