GO! Thang Long Unveiled: A Revamped Shopping Destination

GO! Thang Long, formerly known as Big C Thang Long, is a sprawling 12,000 sq. m retail supermarket with a total investment of 12 million USD. It first opened its doors to the public in January 2005.

On the evening of November 30, the “Vietnamese Delicacies for Vietnamese Tet” festival officially kicked off at GO! Thang Long, Hanoi.

The festival will run continuously until December 11, 2024, across all GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarkets nationwide. It offers a traditional Tet shopping experience, featuring candy festivals, dried goods festivals, and a celebration of Vietnamese agricultural produce.

Specifically, the program offers attractive promotions of up to 49% on nearly 100 specialty products from all over the country, including smoked and dried meats, beef jerky, dried squid, and a variety of dried vegetables and fruits. Hanoi’s famous pho and rice noodles, as well as specialty rice and beans, are also part of the offering.

Mr. Jose Mestre, Commercial Director of Fresh Food at Central Retail Vietnam, shared, “This is not just a commercial event; it is an event that we have meticulously crafted in collaboration with our partners and suppliers. We aim to provide consumers with an opportunity to discover the rich variety of specialty products that Vietnam has to offer.”

Throughout the “Vietnamese Delicacies for Vietnamese Tet” program, customers can also immerse themselves in activities that showcase Vietnam’s cultural heritage. These include calligraphy demonstrations by scholars, folk art performances by artisans, displays of traditional fruit trays, children’s chung cake wrapping competitions, duck-catching contests, and captivating musical performances at GO! Thang Long supermarket.

Ms. Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade, praised the program as a highly meaningful initiative. She noted that it not only contributes to diversifying the market but also provides consumers with a chance to indulge in the unique specialties of different regions across Vietnam.
