A central government-controlled city collects over 10,000 billion VND in budget in just 1 month

In 2024, Hai Phong City aims to achieve a state budget revenue target of VND 106,761 trillion. Of which, domestic revenue is VND 45,000 trillion, and revenue from import-export activities is VND 60,000 trillion.

In January 2024 alone, the total state budget revenue in the city is estimated to reach VND 10,763.7 trillion, accounting for 11% of the central government’s plan, 10.1% of the city’s People’s Council’s plan, and 142.1% compared to the same period.

Specifically, revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND 4,973 trillion, while domestic revenue is estimated at VND 5,706 trillion. Land use fees in January are estimated at VND 2,355 trillion, of which the city collected revenue from some major projects such as the investment project of the commercial residential area in Bac song Cam New Urban Area in Thuy Nguyen District, with a revenue of VND 1,231 trillion; the auction project in Bac song Cam New Urban Area with a revenue of VND 419 trillion; Our City project in Duong Kinh District with a revenue of VND 300 trillion, etc.

Regarding the district and commune budget revenue, 8 out of 14 districts and communes have achieved and exceeded the average revenue growth rate. Specifically, Cat Hai District has exceeded the city’s People’s Council’s rental land revenue estimate, due to the land rental extension fees paid by Vinfast Company.

In 2023, the state budget revenue in Hai Phong City reached VND 103,619 trillion, ranking third in the country in terms of revenue. Domestic revenue in 2023 reached VND 43,466 trillion, equivalent to 138.7% of the central government’s plan, 102.3% of the city’s People’s Council’s plan, and 117.5% compared to the implementation in 2022. The total revenue minus land use fees and land rental fees is VND 26,883 trillion, reaching 110.2% of the central government’s plan, 98.5% of the city’s People’s Council’s plan, and 100.6% compared to the implementation in 2022, exceeding VND 2,494 trillion compared to the central government’s plan.

In the fourth quarter of 2023 alone, the revenue reached VND 21,653 trillion, equal to 211.4% compared to the same period (VND 10,241 trillion). This is the quarter with the highest revenue in recent years.

Not only does Hai Phong City have high state budget revenue, but it also ranks among the top in the country in terms of economic development. With a Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 10.34% in 2023, Hai Phong ranks 5th out of 63 provinces and cities with a high growth rate. This is the 9th consecutive year that the city has maintained a double-digit growth rate. In addition, the city attracted 7.9 million tourists, surpassing the annual plan by 8%.
