In relation to the Kera vegetable candy case, Mr. Cao Van Thanh, Vice Chief Inspector of the Health Department of Dak Lak province, said that the Health Department had transferred the dossier requesting the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to administratively sanction Asia Life Joint Stock Company (address: 18/99 Nguyen Van Linh, Ea Tu ward, Buon Ma Thuoc city, Dak Lak province) with a total amount of over 224 million VND.
According to this leader, based on the inspection and results of food safety and hygiene testing at the National Institute of Food Hygiene and Safety, Asia Life Joint Stock Company had four administrative violations.
Specifically, the violations include:
– Incomplete implementation of temperature and humidity monitoring for raw materials and products in storage areas and warehouses;
– The food production establishment, which is subject to mandatory Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) establishment and application, has established but not fully applied it in practice;
– Producing self-declared products that do not meet the declared standards;

– Trading and circulating food products with added food additives beyond the declared standards. The total value of the violating goods was 2,080 boxes, with a total value of 67,500,160 VND.
Based on these findings, the Dak Lak Provincial Health Department has transferred the dossier and requested the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to administratively sanction Asia Life Joint Stock Company for a total amount of over 224 million VND.
The fine for the violation of incomplete temperature and humidity monitoring for raw materials and products in storage areas and warehouses is 12 million VND;
– The fine for the violation of establishing but not fully applying the HACCP system in food production is 8.5 million VND;
– The fine for producing self-declared products that do not meet the declared standards is 35 million VND;
– The fine for trading and circulating food products with added food additives beyond the declared standards is over 168.7 million VND.
Previously, following the direction of the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health), on March 7, the Director of Dak Lak Provincial Health Department issued Decision No. 229/QD-SYT on establishing an inspection team to inspect the compliance of Asia Life Joint Stock Company with legal provisions on food safety (hereinafter referred to as Inspection Team 229). On the same day, Inspection Team 229 conducted an inspection at Asia Life Joint Stock Company (address: 18/99 Nguyen Van Linh, Ea Tu ward, Buon Ma Thuoc city, Dak Lak province).
The inspection covered legal documents, infrastructure, personnel, equipment of the company, food production process, traceability of food and food additive sources, and declaration of food packaging, among others.
Inspection Team 229 took a sample of the supplementary food product SUPERGREENS GUMMIES (96g/box) produced by the company and sent it to the National Institute of Food Hygiene and Safety for quality and food safety testing as regulated.
Recently, the Investigation Agency initiated a criminal case of counterfeit production involving Asia Life Company and Chi Em Rot Company in Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak province.
The Investigation Agency decided to prosecute the case with three defendants, including Nguyen Phong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asia Life Joint Stock Company; Le Tuan Linh – Director and legal representative of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company; and Le Thanh Cong – Member of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security also prosecuted Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs) – Member of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company, and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc) – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company.
During the investigation, the Ministry of Public Security determined that the defendants showed signs of committing the crimes of producing counterfeit goods and deceiving consumers.
It is known that the prosecution took place after the controversy over the quality and advertising of vegetable candy products on the livestream of Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs. According to previous information disclosed by the representative of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company, 100% of the company’s products were produced by the Asia Life factory of Asia Life Joint Stock Company.
