What’s in store for Thaco in 2024?

Speaking at the 2024 plan deployment conference, Thaco aims to submit a budget of 23 trillion VND, an increase of approximately 3 trillion VND compared to 2023.

At the conference on February 1st, Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco, THA) announced that in 2024, it will focus on implementing infrastructure projects, industrial parks, and urban areas in Chu Lai, including the existing mechanical and automobile industrial park of 243 hectares, the expanded mechanical and automobile industrial park of 115 hectares, the agricultural industrial park of 451 hectares, the port, logistics and customs supervision area of 173 hectares, the dredging of Ky Ha maritime channel, the customs supervision area, and Tam Hoa port, the Cua Lo flow route, and the phase 1 urban area of Chu Lai with an area of 195 hectares.

According to the plan, the Corporation is expected to contribute nearly 23 trillion VND ($1 billion) to the state budget, with over 20 trillion VND ($870 million) contributed to Quang Nam province, 13.8 trillion VND ($600 million) in domestic taxes, and 6.3 trillion VND ($270 million) in import-export taxes.

The estimated budget contribution of Thaco in 2024 is about 3 trillion VND ($130 million) higher than in 2023, as Thaco Chu Lai contributed 20.1 trillion VND ($870 million) in the past year, including 16 trillion VND ($700 million) to Quang Nam province, with over 11 trillion VND ($480 million) in domestic taxes and over 4.7 trillion VND ($200 million) in import-export taxes.

In 2023, Thaco Auto sold over 81 thousand cars of various types. In the mechanical manufacturing and supporting industries, Thaco Industries achieved a revenue of nearly 8.7 trillion VND ($380 million), with nearly 6.2 trillion VND ($270 million) from the domestic market and the rest from abroad.

In 2024, THISO will continue to operate phase 2 of Thiso Mall Truong Chinh – Phan Huy Ich (April 2024); complete the renovation of Thiso Mall Phan Van Tri (April 2024), and the THISKYHALL Sala Convention and Wedding Center. The total revenue target for 2024 is 5.211 trillion VND ($226 million).

* Thaco proposes to build an aluminum processing plant with a capacity of 4 million tons per year, with a scale of 100 trillion VND ($4.35 billion).
