Today’s Coffee Prices (Oct 4): Weekend Surge

Coffee prices surged significantly in today’s final trading session, boosting morale among farmers as they prepare for the upcoming harvest season.

As of the closing session last night, early this morning on October 4th (Vietnam time), the price of Robusta coffee on the London exchange surged by 176–205 USD/ton, equivalent to a 1.45%–4.74% increase. Meanwhile, Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange rose by 3.1%–3.41%.

For the reference futures contract, Robusta coffee for November 2025 delivery climbed by 205 USD/ton to 4,527 USD, while Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery increased by 280 USD to 8,610 USD/ton.

Over the past week, particularly during the last three volatile sessions, Robusta coffee prices gained 326 USD/ton, or nearly 7.8%, and Arabica prices rose by 258 USD/ton, or 3.1%.

In the domestic market, coffee prices today are expected to rebound from the 115,400 VND/kg mark before the London session opens, with hopes of reaching at least 118,500 VND/kg, aligning with the converted price.

However, many farmers remain cautious as domestic coffee prices have recently risen less when global prices increase but fallen more sharply when global prices decline.

This disparity may stem from seasonal pressures, causing traders to avoid stockpiling, fearing that prices could plummet once the harvest peaks.
