86,400 Businesses Resume Operations in the First Nine Months of 2025

In the first nine months of 2025, a remarkable 86,400 businesses resumed operations nationwide, marking a 41.3% surge compared to the same period in 2024.

On October 6th, the Department of Statistics (Ministry of Finance) released the Socio-Economic Report for Q3 and the first 9 months of 2025.

16,800 New Businesses Established in September 2025

Regarding business registrations, in September 2025, Vietnam saw 16,800 newly established businesses with a registered capital of 165.7 trillion VND and 97,000 registered employees. This marks a 17.9% decrease in the number of businesses, a 49.2% drop in registered capital, and a 9.3% decline in registered labor compared to August 2025. However, compared to the same period last year, there’s a 49.8% increase in the number of businesses, a 78.6% rise in registered capital, and a 53.9% growth in registered labor.

The average registered capital per new business in September 2025 was 9.9 billion VND, down 38.1% from the previous month but up 19.2% year-over-year. Additionally, 10,700 businesses resumed operations, a 13.6% decrease from the previous month but a 65.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In September 2025, 4,564 businesses registered for temporary suspension, down 30.1% from the previous month but up 7.8% year-over-year; 6,160 businesses ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, down 10.4% and 16.9%; and 4,182 businesses completed dissolution procedures, up 9.1% and 160.6%.

86,400 Businesses Resumed Operations

In the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam recorded 145,000 newly established businesses with a total registered capital of 1,420.2 trillion VND and 874,000 registered employees, up 18.9% in the number of businesses, 22.6% in registered capital, and 18.9% in registered labor compared to the same period last year.

The average registered capital per new business in the first 9 months of 2025 was 9.8 billion VND, a 3.1% increase from the same period in 2024. The total additional capital injected into the economy during this period was 4,720.5 trillion VND, up 104.3% year-over-year.

Furthermore, 86,400 businesses resumed operations (up 41.3% year-over-year), bringing the total number of newly established and resumed businesses in the first 9 months of 2025 to over 231,300, a 26.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. On average, 25,700 businesses were established or resumed operations each month.

By economic sector, in the first 9 months of 2025, 1,332 new businesses were established in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, up 10.6% year-over-year; 32,400 in industry and construction, up 14.5%; and 111,300 in services, up 20.4%.

In the first 9 months of 2025, 99,500 businesses temporarily suspended operations, up 14.5% year-over-year; 53,200 ceased operations pending dissolution, down 13.5%; and 22,300 completed dissolution procedures, up 45.0%. On average, 19,400 businesses exited the market each month.
