On October 9-10, the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Cooperative Alliance (Saigon Co.op) held a ceremony to announce the appointment of Mr. Pham Trung Kien – Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op and General Director of Saigon Co.op Investment and Development Joint Stock Company – as the new General Director of Saigon Co.op.

Mr. Pham Trung Kien is a homegrown leader within Saigon Co.op, with over 20 years of experience and dedication in the fields of commercial infrastructure planning, investment, and modern retail development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements of Saigon Co.op over its 35 years of development.

Saigon Co.op is a leading cooperative economic model, operating efficiently and making significant contributions to the city’s socio-economic development. It stands as a pioneer in the movement to advance the collective economy.

The Vice Chairman emphasized that in the face of increasing domestic and international retail competition, Saigon Co.op must continue to uphold its traditions of unity, dynamism, and creativity. The company should relentlessly innovate its management methods, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain its position as a leading cooperative retail brand deeply connected to consumers across Vietnam.

“I am confident that in his new role, Mr. Pham Trung Kien, alongside the leadership team, party committee, and all employees of Saigon Co.op, will continue to demonstrate responsibility, resilience, intelligence, and unity. Together, they will drive Saigon Co.op toward sustainable and effective growth, solidifying its position as a flagship of the cooperative economy and a source of pride for Ho Chi Minh City,” the Vice Chairman stated.
