S&P Global CSA – A Global Standard in Corporate Sustainability Assessment

The Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) by S&P Global is recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious evaluation systems, helping businesses integrate sustainability with their business strategies. Annually, CSA assesses over 12,000 global enterprises based on industry-specific criteria, covering economic, environmental, and social factors. The results not only help companies gauge their sustainability performance but also provide critical data for global investors and financial funds interested in long-term sustainable businesses. This system also underpins renowned indices like the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and S&P Scored & Screened Indices, reflecting international sustainability capabilities.

As ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) becomes a global standard for sustainability, Masan Consumer, a member of Masan Group (HOSE: MSN), achieved a remarkable 48 ESG points in the 2025 CSA evaluation by S&P Global.

This result places Masan Consumer at the forefront of Vietnamese companies with published ESG scores on the S&P Global platform, outperforming 85% of global FMCG companies in the assessment.

Ahead of the 2025 Lunar New Year, Omachi enriched the festive atmosphere in Truong Sa by donating 2,000 boxes of Omachi and 1,000 self-heating hotpot sets to the island’s military and residents.

According to the ranking report, Masan Consumer scored 51 points in the Governance & Economic Dimension, surpassing 88% of assessed FMCG companies. In the Environment and Social dimensions, the company achieved 47 points each, outperforming 80% and 85% of global FMCG enterprises, respectively.

These consistent and outstanding scores across all three dimensions highlight Masan Consumer’s holistic sustainability model, focusing not only on business efficiency but also on transparent governance, environmental protection, and social responsibility. Comprehensive ESG Practices – From Green Production to Sustainable People

2024 marks a significant milestone in Masan Consumer’s sustainability journey, with the company launching several initiatives to reduce emissions and protect the environment. Masan Consumer transitioned 65% of its energy consumption to renewable sources, cutting Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 18% compared to the 2023 baseline. Solar power projects were implemented at factories, 100% of diesel forklifts were replaced with electric ones, and over 80% of waste was treated or recycled. These actions underscore Masan Consumer’s commitment to “green growth,” aiming for long-term carbon neutrality.

Alongside emission reduction efforts, Masan Consumer pioneered circular packaging design, prioritizing eco-friendly materials and minimizing plastic waste. Between 2023 and 2024, the company tested reducing plastic preform weight per bottle while expanding the use of recycled PET (rPET) without compromising quality, preservation, or transportation standards. Additionally, Masan Consumer eliminated polyethylene (PE) film from savory product packaging, reducing annual plastic waste by 21,853 kg, saving approximately VND 659 million, and cutting 129.15 tons of CO₂ emissions.

Another cornerstone of Masan Consumer’s sustainability is its internationally certified production system. All 13 factories hold certifications in safety, environment, and energy standards, including FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14064.
