Hoan Kiem District (formerly known as the “Wall Street of Hanoi”) was once the hub for numerous financial institutions, banks, and securities companies. The administrative reorganization merged 18 former wards into two new wards: Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam.

Post-reorganization, Cua Nam Ward became the smallest administrative unit with an area of 1.65 km² and a population of 65,667. Hoan Kiem Ward spans 1.93 km² with 71,280 residents.
