International tourists accounted for over 851,000, marking a 15% and 25% increase respectively compared to the same period last year. Domestic visitors reached approximately 1.65 million, a 10% rise compared to 2024. Total tourism revenue in November hit 11.36 trillion VND, an 18% increase year-over-year.
In the first 11 months of this year, Hanoi’s total tourist arrivals reached 30.94 million (99.8% of the annual target), a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. Total tourism revenue for these 11 months is estimated at 120.6 trillion VND, achieving 93% of the annual goal and rising 21% compared to 2024.
These figures from the Hanoi Department of Tourism highlight that, in the first 11 months of 2025, Hanoi recorded its highest-ever tourist numbers, surpassing the 29 million visitors of the peak year 2019.
These numbers reflect the success of diversifying products, events, and enhancing service quality. Specifically, the average room occupancy rate of accommodations in Hanoi reached 73.4%, a 6.3 percentage point increase. The city currently boasts 3,761 accommodations with over 71,000 rooms, including 65 establishments rated from 1 to 5 stars. Additionally, Hanoi has 58 service facilities meeting standards in dining, shopping, entertainment, and healthcare for tourists.
Meanwhile, travel activities remain stable with 1,921 international travel companies, 591 domestic travel companies, 32 tourism transport units, and a robust team of 6,898 international tour guides and 2,620 domestic tour guides.
Experts attribute this year’s A80 event as the primary driver of Hanoi’s tourism boom. During the 4-day National Day holiday, Hanoi attracted nearly 2.5 million visitors, triple the number from last year, with total revenue reaching 4.5 trillion VND. Furthermore, data from travel agencies indicates that the 80th National Day celebration drew tourists to Hanoi or encouraged them to include Hanoi in their itineraries to witness the parade.
