Top 10 Stocks with the Biggest increase/decrease This Week: “Wave” of Corporate Earnings Continues, One Stock Soars 46% After Reporting Strong Q4 Profit

The top 10 most successful stocks on the HOSE have seen the highest increase of 23% and the lowest increase of 12%.

The stock market witnessed a relatively cautious trading week as the correction trend dominated. Although liquidity improved, there was still some caution ahead of the holiday season. At the end of the week, the VN-Index closed at 1,172.55 points, a slight decrease compared to the previous week.

On HOSE exchange, the group of stocks that recorded the strongest gains outperformed the decliners. The top 10 stocks with the highest gains on the exchange had an increase ranging from 12% to 23%.

PAC shares of South Battery Joint Stock Company saw the strongest increase on HOSE with a weekly price increase to 31,100 VND per share. Trading volume also significantly improved from thousands to hundreds of thousands of matched shares.

The limit-up of PAC shares occurred after the company revealed positive Q4 2023 financial statements. Specifically, the fourth quarter’s net revenue reached 985 billion VND, a 30% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, the after-tax profit of the company also surged by 45% to 35 billion VND.

FRT shares of FPT Retail also had a positive trading week, rising 13% to 119,000 VND per share, thus setting a new historical peak with a corresponding market capitalization of nearly 16,200 billion VND. 

In the declining direction, a series of stocks on HOSE recorded a common decrease of 7% to 24%, with the strongest selling pressure on ST8 stock.

On HNX exchange, the top 10 stocks with the highest gains also had increases ranging from 12% to 37%. The gainers were mainly small-cap stocks with high speculation.

TMB, a stock of Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company – Vinacomin, was a standout with a limit-up for 3 consecutive trading sessions, pushing the stock price to 59,800 VND per share, a 37% increase. Trading volume also improved from thousands to tens or hundreds of thousands of matched units per session. The stock’s upward momentum was also supported by positive Q4 2023 financial statements, with after-tax profit increasing 45% to 145 billion VND.

In terms of price decline, several stocks on HNX also recorded decreases from 11% to 24%.

On UPCOM exchange, due to wider trading ranges, many stocks also increased from 26% to 46% during the week.

The “champion” with the strongest gain in the week is “rookie” BCA of B.C.H Joint Stock Company, which hit the limit-up for 3 consecutive sessions. The stock price soared 46% in a week to 8,800 VND per share. This positive development came after BCA announced a significant Q4 2023 financial performance with doubled revenue of 1,358 billion VND. Notably, the company shifted from a loss of 74 billion VND in the same period last year to a profit of 395 billion VND in the last quarter of 2023.

In contrast, several stocks on UPCOM also recorded decreases ranging from 18% to 39% during the week.
