Tan Chau town

According to the An Giang Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, by 2030, An Giang province will have 27 urban areas, including 1 type I urban area, 1 type II urban area, 2 type III urban areas, 12 type IV urban areas, and 11 type V urban areas. Among them, the goal is for Tan Chau town to become a city under provincial authority by 2030.

Tan Chau town will be a dynamic town in the north, focusing on developing the border economy, and becoming an international trading hub at Vinh Xuong border gate…

Gia Rai town

According to the Bac Lieu Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, by 2030, Bac Lieu will have 17 urban areas, including 1 type I urban area (Bac Lieu city), 1 type III urban area (Gia Rai town), 5 type IV urban areas, and 10 type V urban areas. Among them, the goal is for Gia Rai town to become a city by 2030.

Gia Rai will become the central town of the province, connecting Bac Lieu city and Ca Mau city, with functions in developing agro-processing industries, fisheries, urban development, and tourism. It will be developed into an industrial center for agro-processing in the Ca Mau peninsula.

Hoai Nhon town

According to the Binh Dinh Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, by 2030, Hoai Nhon town is planned to become a city, serving as the gateway in the north and the driving force for the development in the northern part of Binh Dinh province.

Binh Long – Phuoc Long – Chon Thanh towns

According to the Binh Phuoc Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2030, in the phase of 2026 – 2030, Binh Phuoc aims to upgrade Dong Xoai to a type II city and Phuoc Long, Binh Long, Chon Thanh to type III cities. In addition, there will be some planned administrative units to be reorganized by 2030.

La Gi town

According to the Binh Thuan Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2030, Binh Thuan province will have 16 urban areas, including 1 type II urban area, which is Phan Thiet city, 1 type III urban area (La Gi city), 3 type IV urban areas (Phan Ri Cua, Lien Huong, Vo Xu), and 11 type V urban areas (Vinh Tan, Cho Lau, Luong Son, Ma Lam, Thuan Nam, Tan Nghia, Tan Minh, Son My, Lac Tanh, Duc Tai, Phu Quy).

La Gi will be the dynamic town of the province, the economic, cultural, educational, scientific, and technological center, and a concentrated industrial and seafood processing center for the southern part of Binh Thuan province. It will also be a regional ecotourism and cultural, historical tourism center.

Kinh Mon town

According to the Hai Duong Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2030, Hai Duong will develop its urban system with 28 urban areas, including 14 existing urban areas and 14 new urban areas, including 1 type I urban area (Hai Duong city), 1 type II urban area (Chi Linh city), 1 type III urban area (Kinh Mon town, planned to be upgraded to a city), 7 type IV urban areas, and 18 type V urban areas, including 4 existing urban areas, 2 newly recognized urban areas, and 12 upgraded urban areas based on the upgrade of rural communes.

Song Cau town

According to the Phu Yen Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2030, Phu Yen province will have 18 urban areas, including 1 type I urban area (Tuy Hoa city), 1 type II urban area (Song Cau city), 1 type III urban area (Dong Hoa town), 6 type IV urban areas (Cung Son, Phu Thu, Tuy An, La Hai, Hai Rieng, Phu Hoa), and 9 type V urban areas (Tan Lap, Son Long, Son Thanh Dong, Hoa Tri, Xuan Phuoc, Xuan Lanh, Tra Ke Son Hoi, Hoa My Dong, Phong Nien).

Song Cau is planned to become a tourist city. It will be the northern sub-region of Phu Yen province for economic, cultural, service, tourism, and industrial development. It will be a transportation hub and a gateway in the north of Phu Yen province, with an important role in security and defense. It will be developed as a coastal ecotourism city, specializing in the exploitation and processing of local seafood.

Phu Tho town

According to the Phu Tho Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the intention is to upgrade Phu Tho town to a city. Currently, Phu Tho town is a type III urban area; by 2030, the area is expected to meet the criteria for a type II urban area.

In the future, together with Viet Tri city, the districts of Lam Thao, Tam Nong, Cam Khe, Thanh Ba, Phu Ninh, Phu Tho town will serve as the driving force for the province’s economic development in industry, construction, cultural festivities, services, and administration. This area will continue to attract investment, focusing on two economic corridors along the Ná»™i Bài – Lào Cai and Bắc – Nam highways in the western part, urban centers, industrial zones, industrial clusters, resort eco-tourism areas, educational and healthcare sectors, and logistics of the province.

In addition, from now until 2030, the inter-district area of Phu Tho town will also become a dynamic industrial and service development area, especially in industrial zones, clusters, urban areas, service areas, eco-resort tourism areas, and in the fields of education, healthcare, and logistics of the province.

Quang Yen and Dong Trieu towns

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, by 2030, Quang Ninh province will have 12 administrative units with 13 urban areas. Quang Ninh will become a centrally-run city based on the formation of an inner urban area including 7 cities (Hai Phong, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, Mong Cai – Hai Ha, Dong Trieu, Quang Yen, Van Don) and the restoration of Tien Yen town.

Trang Bang and Hoa Thanh towns

According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, in the period of 2026-2030, the province will upgrade Trang Bang and Hoa Thanh towns to cities.

Nghi Son town

According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, by 2030, the province will have 47 urban areas, including 1 type I city (Thanh Hoa city), 2 type III cities (Sam Son city and Nghi Son city), 4 type IV urban areas (Ha Trung district merged into Bim Son town, and the newly established Tho Xuan town, Hoang Hoa town, Quang Xuong town), and 40 type V urban areas.

Cai Lay town

By 2030, the province will have 25 urban areas, including 1 type I city (My Tho city), 2 type III cities (Go Cong city, Cai Lay city), 8 type IV urban areas (My Phuoc, Cai Be, An Huu, Cho Gao, Tan Hiep, Vinh Binh, Tan Hoa, Vam Lang), and 14 type V urban areas, including 2 newly established towns: Phu Thanh and Tan Dien. Chau Thanh district will meet some criteria of a town.
