On February 18, in an interview with a reporter from Người Lao Động Newspaper, Ms. Huynh Tuyet, manager of a cake shop on Pham Van Dong Street (Thủ Đức City), stated that the number of orders for cakes to offer to the God of Wealth (via Thần Tài) has reached over 300.
“Since yesterday, customers have been ordering from 7 am to over 10 pm. I have to mobilize all sales staff to support cake making. The most ordered cake is the gold ingot cake, with up to 350 orders, mainly priced from 120,000 VND – 200,000 VND. Some customers also ordered gold bar cakes for their business openings, but I couldn’t make them in time and had to ask the customers to understand and order from somewhere else.” – Ms. Tuyet shared.

Ms. Van (40 years old), owner of Art Cakes store on D5 Street (Binh Thanh District), said that the number of orders for God of Wealth cakes has reached 50. As for the prices, this year is more diverse, ranging from 490,000 VND – 3.5 million VND/set of God of Wealth cakes.
“Various types of mini God of Wealth cakes, gold ingots placed on special chocolate trays, covered in yellow color limited for up to 15 days, priced from 490,000 – 950,000 VND, are in high demand as gifts for business partners and friends, with the desire to bring them more luck. This year, the number of orders is overwhelming, and our shop has to work overtime day and night.” – Ms. Van said.
According to other cake shop owners in Ho Chi Minh City, the number of orders is not only overwhelming on God of Wealth day but also has been overwhelming since before Tet due to many people using God of Wealth cakes for New Year’s Eve and business openings. From the 6th day of Tet until now, the number of daily orders has increased by 3-5 times compared to normal days.
