However, due to personal reasons, the amount of shares the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Northwest Investment and Development Corporation (UPCoM: NED) acquired is only a small fraction compared to the 7.4 million units registered more than a month prior.

Mr. Huyen’s transactions took place from February 05 to February 06, 2024. During this period, the closing price of NED was around 5.2 thousand Vietnamese dong per share, corresponding to an expenditure of approximately 913 million Vietnamese dong.

Price fluctuations of NED shares since the beginning of February 2024

The share trading activities of NED by the Chairman of the Board of Directors have been continuous for the past 2-3 years, mostly unable to complete the registered amount due to reasons such as unattainable prices or prices not being suitable.

Starting from September 2020, Mr. Huyen began to acquire nearly 4 million NED shares, increasing his ownership percentage from 0% to 9.8%, before raising it to 19.75% within one month. The ownership percentage held by the Chairman of NED reached 24.94% at the beginning of 2021 but was sold almost entirely a few months later.

The selling action at that time can be considered quite early because just over a month later, the price of NED shares continued to rise strongly and reached a historical peak around 15 thousand Vietnamese dong per share, equivalent to an increase of over 70%. In return, the share price continuously decreased in 2022, sometimes dropping below 4 thousand Vietnamese dong per share.

Mr. Huyen’s buying back transactions began in August 2022 with 4.1 million registered shares, but only 553 thousand shares were acquired, increasing the ownership percentage from 0.05% to 1.42% also due to unattainable prices. At the end of 2022, the Chairman of NED successfully purchased 1.6 million shares out of the total 4 million registered shares, increasing the ownership percentage after the transaction to 5.5%.

Throughout 2023, the share price mostly moved sideways, with an average of about 5 thousand Vietnamese dong per share. Mr. Huyen continued to register for purchase but was only able to execute nearly 900 thousand shares in two transactions in July and August, despite registering for 4.5 million units.

However, in the late 2023 period, when the share price gradually became optimistic, Mr. Huyen sold 855 thousand shares, accounting for 90% of the registered amount, likely earning over 4 billion Vietnamese dong estimated at market prices during that time.
