Bank stocks soar on the morning of February 23rd

On the morning of February 23rd, bank stocks showed a positive performance with a green wave sweeping across the entire industry.

Many large-cap stocks have seen strong gains, contributing to the overall market’s upward movement. VNIndex has increased by over 11 points this morning.

Techcombank’s TCB and BIDV’s BID are currently the strongest performing bank stocks. TCB’s stock has surpassed the 42,000 dong mark, at one point increasing by 4.7% and reaching its highest point in 8 months. From the beginning of 2024 until now, TCB stock has increased by over 30%. The driving force behind this increase may be due to the bank’s cash dividend distribution.

BID has also increased by 4.5% to 52,000 dong per share, the highest it has been to date. From the beginning of 2024, this stock has increased by approximately 20%.

Many large-cap stocks have also shown positive trends, such as MBB, VPB of VPBank, CTG of VietinBank, all of which have experienced increases of less than 2% this morning. The largest stock in the market, VCB of Vietcombank, has also increased by 1.67% to 91,000 dong per share. CTG stock is approaching its peak value reached in June 2021.

Small-cap stocks traded on UPCoM have also seen significant increases. Among them, SGB of Saigonbank has experienced a nearly 4.5% increase to 14,000 dong per share. VAB stock of VietABank continues to increase by 3.6% to 8,600 dong per share. Both of these stocks have traded in the green during the morning session on February 23.

The overall trading volume in the industry has not seen any significant changes. Currently, MB has the highest trading value, reaching over 500 billion dong this morning.
