In the morning of the same day, the delegation surveyed the progress of the component 3 project of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway (the section passing through Ba Ria – Vung Tau province with a length of 19.5 km) and the Hac Dich resettlement area (Phu My town) – a place for households to be relocated to serve the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project. The resettlement area covers more than 10 hectares, consisting of 614 resettlement plots, each with an area of over 100 square meters. Currently, 37 households have moved in to this resettlement area.
At the working session, Vice Chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Cong Vinh said that in implementing the Resolution of the National Assembly on important national projects, the province has applied special mechanisms for contractor selection in 2020 and 2023, thereby shortening the time in the process of selecting contractors, ensuring the commencement and implementation progress of the project. The province proposed the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance to consider additional central budget capital of VND 660 billion for the project in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Director of the Traffic Management Board of Cai Mep – Thi Vai area and the investor of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project (the section passing through Ba Ria – Vung Tau province), also proposed to the delegation that it is necessary to add another grade-separated interchange on the expressway (at the beginning of Phu My town) in order to connect with Phuoc An bridge and Ring Road 4, creating connectivity and convenience for transportation.
The Supervision Delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated the province’s efforts and results in implementing Resolution No. 43 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies, supporting the program of economic and social recovery and development and Resolution of the National Assembly on some important national projects until the end of 2023; acknowledged the province’s proposals and suggestions and stated that there will be a report and request to the National Assembly and the Government for consideration and resolution.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Director of the Traffic Management Board of Cai Mep – Thi Vai Port area, said that the consortium of 3 contractors, including Son Hai Corporation Joint Stock Company – Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company – 703 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, is currently mobilizing 350 pieces of equipment and 500 personnel to implement 15 construction points along the entire route. The accumulated value of the component 3 construction work to date has reached over VND 240 billion, equivalent to 13%.
It is expected that the project will be completed by September 2025, 3 months ahead of Government Resolution 90/NQ-CP.
