The General Department of Market Management (Ministry of Industry and Trade) announced that on the consecutive days of March 4th and 5th, 2024, Team 1 Market Management, the Market Management Department of An Giang province, in coordination with Inter-sectoral Team 389 and the Plant Protection and Crop Production Department of An Giang province, conducted an inspection of trucks and warehouses belonging to Chinh Ph Trading, Import-Export and Transport Co., Ltd., located in An Phu district, An Giang province. They seized 1,299 bags of fertilizers, equivalent to 65 tons, for violating labels. The value of the shipment is nearly 232 million VND.

In particular, on the evening of March 4th, 2024, at National Highway 91 in Hoa Binh hamlet, Vinh My ward, Chau Doc city, An Giang province, the inspection team checked a truck with license plate 67H-034.27, driven by Mr. Nguyen Van H, born in 1975.

Here, the authorities discovered 299 bags of Ammonium Sulphate Granular fertilizer, originated from China, with foreign-language labels but without Vietnamese labels.

The goods were sold by Chinh Ph Trading, Import-Export and Transport Co., Ltd., headquartered in An Phu district, An Giang province, to a business in Tan An city, Long An province, along with an accompanying invoice. The value of the goods is 55.315 million VND.

Suspecting that the fertilizers did not meet the quality standards, the inspection team agreed to take 2 samples for quality testing. The sample goods have a value of 38 million VND.

Next, on the afternoon of March 5th, 2024, they inspected the warehouse of Chinh Ph Trading, Import-Export and Transport Co., Ltd., located in An Khanh hamlet, Khanh An commune, An Phu district, An Giang province, which is represented by Ms. Nguyen Thi K.H, legally.

Through the inspection, the authorities detected 1,000 bags of NPK 4-4-0 fertilizer produced by Hung Th Fertilizer Import-Export Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Can Duoc district, Long An province.

The goods have labels that do not contain enough mandatory information, such as fertilizer codes, manufacturing date, expiry date, warnings, instructions for use, and methods of use. The value of the goods is 177.5 million VND.

In addition, the inspection team took 01 sample of urea fertilizer, imported from Malaysia, packed and distributed by Chinh Ph Trading, Import-Export and Transport Co., Ltd., for quality testing. The sample goods have a value of 97 million VND.

Plant protection medicine with signs of violating product labels.

In An Giang province as well, on March 7th, 2024, Team 3 Market Management, in cooperation with the Plant Protection and Crop Production Station and the Vinh Khanh Police in Thoai Son district, An Giang province, inspected T.H Plant Protection Medicine Store in Vinh Khanh hamlet, Thoai Son district, An Giang province.

Through the inspection, the team discovered and issued a temporary seizure report for 3,690 units of plant protection medicine (including 03 types of goods), with a total value of over 95 million VND, for violating product labels.

These include 560 bags of Kajio 1.0GR biological insecticide (net weight: 1kg), 330 bottles of Mekong Vil 5sc fungicide (1 liter per bottle), and 2,800 bags of OXYCIN 100WP fungicide (net weight 25g per bag).

The labels contain images, drawings, writings, and other information that are not true to the nature of the goods, not true to the truth about the goods, not enough mandatory information on the labels, and no presentation of the Certificate of eligibility for the trade of fertilizers and plant protection medicines.

The case is being further investigated, clarified, and handled in accordance with the provisions of the law.
