Speaking to reporters from Người Lao Động, many people have said that they have opened many bank accounts over the years. Some people don’t even remember if the bank account has been closed; the credit card was opened in which year, is there any bad debt incurred?
According to experts, users can check credit information to see if they owe the bank or not. Credit information is information about individuals, legal entities (borrowing customers) who have credit relationships with credit institutions, foreign bank branches.
In Vietnam, credit information of the State Bank is entrusted to the Credit Information Center of Vietnam (CIC). CIC collects credit information data from 100% credit institutions in the banking system; credit scoring reports for individual customers…
To find out if you are in debt to a bank, users can access the CIC website at https://cic.gov.vn, the “Quick Guide to Using the Mobile App” section or the Facebook page “Credit Information Center National Vietnam – CIC”, or download the CIC app – Connect the loan demand.
After accessing the CIC website or downloading the app, customers register for a personal account. When there is an account, customers can “exploit the report” to start checking debt on CIC.
As it is personal and confidential information, when you want to exploit credit reports, customers need to perform authentication steps such as: uploading photos of ID cards, facial verification, fingerprint… then purchase credit reports and check.
Regarding the fee for exploiting credit information reports, CIC said that borrowing customers are entitled to exploit free credit reports of themselves once a year.
From the 2nd exploitation in a year, borrowing customers must pay a fee of 20,000 VND/report for personal credit information reports, 50,000 VND/report for business credit information reports (excluding VAT).
Deal with incorrect credit information
If incorrect information is detected, customers report it to CIC via the hotline 1800585891 or the “Complaint/Feedback” section on the website: http://cic.gov.vn (attach supporting documents). If there is an error in the data processing, CIC is responsible for adjusting and notifying the results to customers.
If the incorrect information is in the credit institution’s information report, CIC staff will guide customers to work with the relevant credit institution to verify and respond. If an error is determined, the General Director of the credit institution or the authorized person is responsible for sending a written request to CIC to update and adjust the correct information.
