Stunning Aerial Views of Binh Duong’s Newly Established City

With the newly established Ben Cat City, Binh Duong province becomes the locality with the most provincial cities in the country, with 5 cities. Located in the northern part of the province, Ben Cat City has many inter-regional connecting routes passing through, where traffic congestion has never occurred.

On the afternoon of April 17, the Ben Cat City Party Committee (Binh Duong) organized a press conference to announce the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of An Dien Ward, An Tay Ward under Ben Cat town and the establishment of Ben Cat city. This Resolution shall take effect from May 1, 2024.

According to the Resolution, An Dien Ward is established on the basis of the entire natural area of 31.22 km2 and the population of 25,363 people of An Dien commune. An Tay Ward is established on the basis of the entire natural area of 44.01 km2 and the population of 41,917 people of An Tay commune.

The establishment of Ben Cat City is based on the entire natural area of 234.35 km2 and the population of 364,578 people of Ben Cat town, Binh Duong province.

After being established, Ben Cat City has 8 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards: An Dien, An Tay, Chan Phu Hoa, Hoa Loi, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa and Phu An commune.

Located in the northern part of the province, Ben Cat City has many connecting traffic routes such as National Highway 13, HCM City Ring Road 4, My Phuoc Tan Van, Provincial Road 741, Provincial Road 744, Provincial Road 748, Provincial Road 749, etc.

Ben Cat has up to 8 industrial parks, 1 large-scale concentrated industrial cluster, attracting thousands of enterprises to build factories, invest in business, and create jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers.

According to the planning, Ben Cat urban area is developed according to the model of industrial urban area combined with services and traffic hub. By 2040, Ben Cat urban area will develop a linear model along two main directions: Developing the North-South commercial – service corridor along National Highway 13 and developing the East-West urban-commercial service areas along the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, which is a transportation route in the East-West direction.

For waterway, developing the An Tay port with a scale of 100 ha, the An Dien port with a scale of 8 ha and the ICD Rach Bap port with a scale of 10 ha in An Tay commune (along Saigon riverbank). Developing the urban energy supply works with a scale of about 30 – 35 ha in An Tay commune. As for railway, in addition to the Chan Luu station with a scale of 6.6 ha, the locality will develop a mixed-use area around the station, in which priority will be given to logistics services.

Regarding traffic hub, for the road, the IDC An Dien dry port with a scale of 30 ha will be arranged in the area east of Viet Huong 2 Industrial Park; upgrading the existing bus station in My Phuoc ward to a type 2 station and developing a new bus station with a scale of 3 ha in An Tay commune.
