Train Ticket Prices from Hanoi to Major Destinations Increase by Up to 6% for April 30th-May 1st Holiday

On the afternoon of April 24, the representative of the Hanoi Railway Transport Company announced that for the upcoming holiday of April 30th to May 1st, the company planned to sell over 100,000 train tickets from Hanoi to various provinces and cities. Up to now, over 50% of the tickets have been sold, with prices increasing by an average of 2-6%.

In terms of the holiday train operation plan, a representative of the Hanoi Railway Transport Company said that, in addition to the trains running continuously every day from Hanoi to other provinces and cities, which are still operating stably, during the period of April 30th – May 1st, the company has increased the operation of 32 more train services on routes with a high volume of passengers.

Specifically, 4 trains/trips have been added to the Hanoi – Dong Hoi route, with additional running times on April 26th, 27th, 30th, and May 1st. 20 trains/trips have been added to the Hanoi – Vinh route, with additional running times from April 26th and 27th to May 1st. 3 trains/trips have been added to the Hanoi – Thanh Hoa route, with additional running times from April 27th, 30th, and May 1st. 5 trains/trips have been added to the Hanoi – Hai Phong route, with additional running times on April 27th, 28th, 30th, and May 1st…

Regarding the number of tickets sold on train routes and ticket prices during this period, a representative of the Hanoi Railway Transport Company said that, as of April 24th, the company had sold more than 52,000 tickets. Currently, tickets for certain North – South trains and trains to Quang Binh, Sa Pa such as SE19, QB1, SE1, SE5, SE11, SP1, SP3 departing from Hanoi Railway Station on April 26th, 27th, and May 27th have basically sold out. Trains such as SE20, SE2, SE6, SE12, QB2… have also sold out on April 30th and May 1st.

To serve people still in need, the Hanoi Railway Transport Company is currently selling tickets on additional train routes.

Regarding ticket prices, the Hanoi Railway Transport Company said that train ticket prices for the April 30th – May 1st holiday have been adjusted up by 2 – 6% compared to 2023, and this price is applied to each route segment. With this price increase, the current price of a sleeper ticket from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City is the highest for a 4-bed compartment at over 1.8 million VND, while a 2-bed compartment is 2.7 million VND/trip/person.
