Smartphone Prices Plummet: iPhone 12, 15 Pro Max at Unprecedented Low, Once Popular Flagships Now only 7 Million VND

A wide range of smartphones are currently being heavily discounted by retailers, reaching unprecedented low prices since entering the Vietnamese market.

At the end of February 2024, retail systems and agents continue to launch many big promotion programs to stimulate demand and attract buyers in the context of a sluggish market. Notably, among them are many premium smartphone models that have been adjusted to reduce prices by tens of millions of VND.

iPhone 11 – the most anticipated premium smartphone model of 2019 is still available and widely distributed at retail stores in 2 versions: 64GB and 128GB.

At this time, the iPhone 11 64GB version is priced from 9.75 million VND, while the 128GB version is slightly higher at 11.29 million VND (reduced by up to 130,000 VND compared to the beginning of February 2024). In addition, compared to the listed price at launch, the price of the iPhone 11 is discounted from 10.2 – 10.7 million VND, cheaper than its competitor Samsung Galaxy S22.

Similarly, the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are mostly sold as used devices. At retail systems, the iPhone 11 Pro 64GB version is priced from 7.09 million VND, while the 256GB version is priced from 7.59 million VND. The iPhone 11 Pro Max 64GB version ranges from 8.69 – 9.69 million VND and the 256GB version ranges from 9.79 – 10.79 million VND.

The unboxed iPhone 12 has now dropped below 12 million VND for the lowest version. Specifically, the iPhone 12 64GB, 128GB and 256GB versions are priced at 11.99 million VND, 13.59 million VND and 16.39 million VND respectively. At this price, the iPhone 12 has become the cheapest premium OLED-screen smartphone from Apple. At the same time, this is also the lowest price point that the iPhone 12 has reached since its launch in the Vietnamese market.

At retail stores, the price of the unboxed iPhone 13 128GB version is now only 14.25 million VND, while the 256GB and 512GB versions are priced at 19.99 million VND and 23.99 million VND, respectively.

After the official release of the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 14 has become the fastest-depreciating smartphone model in the history of the Vietnamese market. According to retailers, the reason why the iPhone 14 has depreciated so quickly is that the iPhone 15 has undergone too many changes, from appearance to equipment, a new back design… The price difference for the iPhone 14 among retailers is not too high, ranging from a few tens to a few hundred thousand VND. Accordingly, the iPhone 14 128GB and 256GB versions are priced at 16.49 million VND and 22.19 million VND, respectively.

At retailers, although the iPhone 14 Pro has been officially discontinued by Apple, there are still many units available in the market and offered at very attractive prices. Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro 128GB version is priced at 24.99 million VND, the 256GB version is 26.69 million VND, and the 512GB version is 32.99 million VND. To unbox the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the popular price level starts from 27.09 million VND for the 128GB version and 28.99 million VND for the 256GB version.

Alongside the iPhone, the prices of many smartphone models from brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, etc. have also dropped during this period. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is heavily discounted to 22.49 million VND for the 256GB version and 24.49 million VND for the 512GB version. The Galaxy A24 6/128GB version is now priced at only 4.39 million VND, while the 8/128GB version is slightly higher at 4.89 million VND.
