Long An signs many important cooperation MOUs with Korean partners

In the capital city of Seoul, Republic of Korea, the Investment Promotion Conference - Potentials and Investment Opportunities for Infrastructure Development of Long An Province was successfully held.

This event is a highlight in the series of foreign investment promotion activities in Korea this time by the Long An Provincial Delegation, marking a new step in attracting quality investment capital from Korea.

Commitment of Long An Provincial People’s Committee Chairman

The conference was attended by Mr. Vu Ho – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Korea; Mr. Shing Choon Il, Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of Long An and Dong Nai provinces.

The conference attracted nearly 150 delegates from leading Korean organizations and businesses, such as technology, investment, infrastructure construction corporations, investment funds; Vietnamese and Korean press and media agencies also attended and reported.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut affirmed that Korea is a large country with a strong investment relationship with the province. Korean enterprises have made significant contributions to promoting export growth, trade surplus, and the socio-economic development of Long An province.

This conference is a special opportunity for Long An to introduce Korean organizations, businesses, and investors to investment opportunities. Long An always highly appreciates and believes that with the strengths and experience of Korean enterprises in combination with the potential, advantages available in Long An, together with a provincial government that is always dynamic, friendly, and strives to create a transparent, safe and effective investment environment will be the values that contribute to create breakthrough success, ensuring harmonizing the benefits of both sides.

The Chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee committed to always accompany businesses, fully apply preferential investment policies according to regulations, and prepare necessary conditions to be ready to receive investment projects; reforming administrative procedures, and providing legal support so that Korean businesses can feel more substantial when cooperating to invest in Long An as their second home.

At this conference, Mr. Truong Van Liep, Director of the Long An Provincial Department of Planning and Investment, introduced the potential, advantages, development orientations, and planning of the province to the Korean business community.

According to Mr. Truong Van Liep, Long An has an important strategic economic location. The master plan was developed methodically by the leading planning consultant in the United States.

Accordingly, Long An will develop under the model of 1 center – 2 corridors – 3 economic zones – 6 dynamic axes. Based on the defined goals and visions, the province prioritizes attracting investment in the fields of industry 4.0, electronic component manufacturing, software, semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, smart eco-urban areas, port logistics services, border economy, high-tech agriculture, and renewable energy.

At the same time, Long An invites investors to research and develop a project to establish a high-quality labor training center in the semiconductor field.

At the conference, the Long An Provincial Delegation listened to presentations on the experience, methods of building and developing infrastructure projects for green industrial parks, net zero, carbon reduction, innovation and creation complexes, science and technology from Korean experts.

The encouraging signal is that the conference received positive feedback from Korean investors when many businesses expressed their satisfaction with Long An’s favorable investment environment and agreed with the province’s development direction, and made commitments to continue researching, making new investments, and expanding investments in the province in the coming time.

Opening a new stage of good development

In order to recognize the achievements of this business trip, within the framework of the conference, Long An province granted many important cooperation intentions with Korean organizations and businesses such as: interest in cooperation between Long An province and JDC-Saigontel-Zennith on the development of a high-tech park; study investment in a project in the environmental field to develop a circular economy in Long An province.

This is an important premise that opens up the opportunity to welcome a wave of high-quality Korean investment into Long An province, especially in the field of infrastructure development and high technology.

At the same time, infrastructure enterprises accompanying the delegation and Korean enterprises have also exchanged many cooperation intentions in various fields regarding the pilot implementation of the green industrial park model, investment in environmental recovery facilities, investment in developing a Vietnam – Korea industrial park, etc.

The investment promotion conference of Long An in Korea marked the successful end of the business trip of the Long An Provincial Delegation.

This working trip has opened up many positive results, opening up a new period of good development for the partnership and strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea and the development cooperation relationship between Long An province and Korean agencies, organizations, and enterprises.
