Specifically, the National Assembly will vote to dismiss him as Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approve the dismissal of the post of the National Defense and Security Council, and to stop his duties as a deputy of the National Assembly, XV tenure, for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, member of the National Assembly delegation of Hai Phong City.
After listening to the reports and speeches by Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly discussed, voted by secret ballot, and passed: Resolution on dismissal of the position of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, approving the dismissal of the position as a member of the National Defense and Security Council, end the duty as a deputy of the National Assembly, XV tenure, for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue.

On April 26, 2024, at the Party Central Office, the 13th Party Central Committee convened to consider, remove from office, and suspend work for Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 15th tenure, 2021 – 2026.
As a key leader of the Party and State, Mr. Hue “was trained basically, matured from the grassroots level; assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State”. However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Commission and functional agencies, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue violated the Regulations on what Party members must not do, the Regulations on exemplary responsibilities of cadres and party members, first and foremost Politburo members, Secretariat members, Central Party Committee members, and bears the responsibility as a leader according to Party regulations and State laws.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue’s violations and shortcomings “caused bad press and affected the prestige of the Party, State, and him personally”. Mr. Hue has submitted a resignation from his assigned positions and suspended his work.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue is 67 years old, from Nghe An; a Professor, Doctor of Economics, he is a Politburo member for the 12th and 13th terms; a member of the Party Central Committee for the 10th to 13th terms; and a deputy of the National Assembly for the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.
Before being elected as Chairman of the National Assembly in March 2021, he had held the positions of State Auditor General, Minister of Finance, Head of the Central Economic Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee.
