The investigation has revealed that aside from previously detected discrepancies, there are no other non-compliant models from the Japanese brand. This result has also been reported to the Japan Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT).

The Japanese brand has once again apologized to its customers and stakeholders for the inconvenience and concern caused. The company pledges to closely monitor and rectify any issues as directed by MLIT.

The issue began a month ago when several major Japanese automakers were accused of internal inspection fraud. MLIT stated that Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha admitted to having made mistakes in their self-inspections.

Among them, Toyota identified a total of 6 cases of test fraud across 7 models. Subsequently, inspectors and related departments were dispatched to Toyota’s headquarters to expand the investigation, with the final results announced as mentioned above.

In fact, in the past two years, Toyota has continuously faced allegations of fraud. Its subsidiaries, Hino Motors and Daihatsu, were the first to be accused of safety test fraud before Toyota itself was also found to have similar issues.

This is a significant blow to Toyota’s reputation, known for its reliable and safe vehicles.

Despite the damage to its image, Toyota’s business performance remains strong. They have maintained sales of over 10 million vehicles per year for several years and have held the title of the world’s number one automotive brand in terms of sales for the past five years.
