On July 10th afternoon, an official from the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city confirmed that authorities are in the process of demolishing a hotel built illegally with five additional floors by Mr. To Van Huynh, located at 9/2D Nguyen Thien Thuat, Loc Tho ward, Nha Trang city. The demolition process started on July 3rd, and the city’s authorities are still working on dismantling the violating structure.

Previously, in 2020, the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city granted a permit to Mr. Huynh to construct a six-story hotel with one basement, one mezzanine, and one tum thang floor, covering an area of 261.8 square meters at the aforementioned address. However, on March 23, 2020, a joint inspection team from Nha Trang city discovered that the building had already reached seven stories. After the People’s Committee issued an administrative fine, Mr. Huynh paid the penalty and continued the construction, eventually reaching eleven stories.

On October 21, 2020, the People’s Committee of Nha Trang city issued a decision to forcibly implement remedial measures against Mr. Huynh. However, up until now, the violations at Mr. Huynh’s construction site have not been rectified.

In 2021, the People’s Committee of Nha Trang urged the People’s Committee of Loc Tho ward to establish a plan for demolishing the five additional floors of Mr. Huynh’s hotel. The city’s committee instructed the ward to finalize the plan, allocate appropriate timing for the demolition, and submit it for approval. It wasn’t until now that the authorities of Nha Trang city officially commenced the demolition of the violating hotel structure owned by Mr. Huynh.
