MG7
According to sources from the official distributor of MG cars in Vietnam, this model will be officially launched in the latter part of August this year. MG dealers in Vietnam have also started taking reservations for this vehicle.
In terms of exterior design, the MG7 sports a sleek, athletic look reminiscent of the Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera, but with more distinct angles and embossed details.
While the MG7 has a relatively large size, it is still slightly smaller than the Audi A7. Its dimensions are (4,884 x 1,889 x 1,447) mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,778 mm.
The MG7 boasts a modern interior that rivals German luxury cars, featuring a full LCD instrument cluster measuring 10.25 inches and a prominent 12.3-inch central control screen on the dashboard. Additionally, it is equipped with a Topload opening glass roof, the Zebra Luoshen 8155 smart cockpit system, the advanced MG PILOT 2.0 intelligent driving assistance system, and a BOSE Premium 9-speaker audio system.
Currently, the MG7 offers two gasoline-powered drivetrains. The base model is a 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 183 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The top-of-the-line model, on the other hand, features a 2.0L turbocharged engine that generates 254 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, supported by an electronic differential and electronic suspension control.
The MG7 is packed with modern and advanced driver-assistance features, including intelligent cruise control (ISC), intelligent lane-change assist (ALC), and the premium MG PILOT 2.0 intelligent driving assistance system. It also offers the Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) system, automatic parking assist (APA), and remote-controlled parking assist (RPA), providing a comprehensive view of the parking area.
The expected price for this vehicle is over 700 million VND. If introduced in Vietnam, the MG7 would become the most affordable sedan in the D-segment.
Haval Jolion
According to sales consultants, the launch of the Haval Jolion in Vietnam has been postponed to August. The distributor has revealed that the Haval Jolion will be available in two versions: Pro and Ultra, with a promised starting price of under 700 million VND. Dealers have already started taking early reservations for this model.
The Haval Jolion boasts impressive dimensions of 4,472 x 1,841 x 1,626 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
The Haval Jolion hybrid is equipped with a full LED lighting system, featuring a 3-lens projection headlamp cluster. It rides on stylish 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the Pro version comes with 17-inch wheels. Other notable exterior features include a star-shaped grille, LED daytime running lights that extend to the front bumper, and a rear diffuser reminiscent of sports cars.
In addition to its generous size, the Haval Jolion stands out with its hybrid powertrain. The hybrid system combines a 1.5L turbocharged engine with an electric motor, delivering 190 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive offer four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow. With a fuel consumption rate of approximately 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers, the Haval Jolion outperforms the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, which has a rate of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
The Haval Jolion is packed with advanced ADAS safety features, including an emergency call system, pre-collision warning, driver drowsiness detection, tire pressure monitoring, hill descent control, automatic emergency braking, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Surprisingly, the Ultra version does not include a rearview camera, a feature found in the lower-priced Sport variant.
Hyundai Santa Fe 2024
According to sales consultants, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 will no longer offer a diesel engine option. It is likely to be available with a 2.5L gasoline engine and a 1.6L turbo hybrid powertrain. The launch is expected to take place in late August or September. This D-segment SUV has recently been spotted at an emission testing center in Hanoi.
The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 belongs to the fifth generation of the model, which was first introduced globally in August 2023. It features a completely different design from its predecessors, with a more angular and boxy overall shape.
The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has dimensions of 4,830 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 to 1,780 mm in height, depending on the configuration, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.
This new-generation SUV is offered with four engine configurations. The first is a naturally aspirated 2.5L gasoline engine that produces 192 horsepower and 246 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The second option is a 2.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 277 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque. This variant is equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The final two configurations are hybrid powertrains, offering either 231 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque or a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system with 261 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Both hybrid variants are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Dealers estimate that the price of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 in Vietnam will start at around 1.1 billion VND for the base model and go up to 1.4 billion VND for the higher-end version.

The new Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is expected to feature a powertrain similar to the Ertiga, combining a 1.5L gasoline engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery to improve acceleration and fuel efficiency. This information comes from dealers, who also hint at other significant upgrades for the new model.
If it follows the Indonesian model, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid will be identical to the conventional gasoline version, except for its sportier design accents, such as black-painted side mirrors, roof, grille, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The expected price of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is over 600 million VND.
