Viettel Construction Commences Work on the Lien Khuong – Prenn Underground Cable Route

Viettel Construction has commenced the construction of an underground cable line along the Lien Khuong - Prenn Highway in Lam Dong, marking a significant step forward in the nation's telecommunications infrastructure upgrade and data connectivity enhancement.

On July 31, 2024, Viettel Construction held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project “Construction of an Underground Cable Line Along the Lien Khuong – Prenn Highway in Lam Dong Province.” This event marked a significant step forward for the Investment Project on the Underground Cable Line Along the North-South Highway, contributing to the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure upgrade.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Lam Dong Provincial Departments of Transportation and Information and Communications, as well as leaders from Duc Trong District, Lien Nghia Town, and construction partners. At the event, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung, Vice President of Viettel Construction, delivered a speech emphasizing the project’s importance to the development of the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure and the government’s digital transformation agenda: “The underground cable line along the Lien Khuong – Prenn Highway will serve as a robust transmission line, ensuring network connectivity and data transmission between Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, and economic centers of neighboring provinces and the whole country through the transmission axis along the North-South highway system.”

Mr. Hung expressed his sincere gratitude to the authorities and partners who have provided support and accompanied Viettel Construction during the project preparation and implementation process, enabling the early commencement of the Lien Khuong – Prenn route construction.

The Investment Project on the Underground Cable Line Along the North-South Highway has a total length of 3025 km, with the section from Danang to the South including 32 routes along the North-South highway system across 26 provinces and cities. The project is divided into two phases: Phase 1 (2024-2025), which involves the deployment of 22 routes with available construction sites, and Phase 2 (2025-2028), which focuses on the remaining 10 routes along the highways yet to be expanded.

The Lien Khuong – Prenn underground cable line is one of the critical routes of the project, playing a vital role in connecting state management agencies, telecommunications providers, and enterprises from Da Lat City to the North-South transmission axis.
