On July 31, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province issued a decision to amend and supplement several contents of Decision No. 1258/QD-UBND dated May 17, 2022, approving the plan for housing development in the province for the period of 2021-2025.

According to the decision, the target number of houses to be constructed during the 2021-2025 period has been adjusted, increasing from nearly 108,400 units to nearly 111,000 units, equivalent to an additional 2,600 houses.

However, there are variations in the adjustments across different housing types. Notably, social housing has been increased from 2,500 units to 10,000 units, an addition of 7,500 units. In contrast, the number of houses to be self-built by individuals and households has been reduced from 84,900 units to 80,000 units, a decrease of 4,900 units. The remaining housing types remain unchanged.

Regarding capital sources, Dong Nai has adjusted the total capital mobilization for various housing types during the 2021-2025 period, increasing it from nearly VND 120,600 billion to nearly VND 124,600 billion, an increment of nearly VND 4,000 billion.

Specifically, the capital for social housing investment has been increased to over VND 10,000 billion, four times higher than the 2022 decision. Investment in the construction of houses by individuals and households is estimated at VND 58,000 billion, a 6% decrease compared to the 2022 decision. Commercial housing investment stands at nearly VND 46,000 billion, while investment in resettlement housing is over VND 10,500 billion, and investment in public housing remains at VND 12 billion.

By 2025, the average living area in the province is expected to reach 27 square meters per person, and the total additional living area will be 13.3 million square meters. These two indicators remain unchanged from the previous decision.

In another development, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province has approved adjustments to the general planning of Bien Hoa city until 2030, with a vision towards 2050, for an area of nearly 15 hectares in subdivision A4, Hiep Hoa ward.

The adjustments include changing the function of nearly 12 hectares of land from low-density residential area (about 8.2 hectares), park and water surface (about 2.9 hectares), and transportation (0.54 hectares) to a mixed-use development area, primarily for commercial centers.

Additionally, the function of nearly 1.7 hectares of land has been adjusted from low-density residential area, and 1.5 hectares from renovated residential area, to a park and green space. The area undergoing planning adjustments is where the commercial center project in Hiep Hoa ward will be implemented.
