Running with Herbalife at Vnexpress Marathon Nha Trang 2024

For the third consecutive year, Herbalife Vietnam has proudly partnered with the largest running event in Vietnam, the Vnexpress Marathon, as their official nutrition partner. In August 2022, Herbalife Vietnam made its debut at the VnExpress Marathon in Nha Trang. As the Nutrition Sponsor, Herbalife Vietnam organized educational sessions on healthy nutrition to help runners achieve their best performance. Additionally, Herbalife provided an opportunity for participants to experience and learn about their products at their booth within the designated area.

The Vnexpress Marathon in Nha Trang, now in its third year, attracted 9,000 athletes from Vietnam and 55 other countries and territories. Nha Trang, a world-renowned tourist destination, boasts excellent infrastructure, including roads, hotels, and transportation, making it a feasible location for hosting an event of this magnitude with over 10,000 participants.

The Luong Son Pass will once again be the most challenging and exciting point on the 42km race course. On August 11, runners will take on this majestic pass for the third time. With each consecutive year, the VnExpress Marathon in Khanh Hoa Province has aimed to deliver a high-quality event, featuring a professional and safe race course and the best supporting services in terms of medical care, hydration, souvenirs, and personnel.

Nutritional Tips to Support Your Running Routine

Most runners know that consuming carbohydrates, protein, and staying hydrated is essential. But how much and when? Dr. Dana Ryan, Director of Sports Performance and Education at Herbalife Nutrition and Chair of the Herbalife Fitness Advisory Board, shares five nutritional tips for runners:

Start with the basics: Fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and good carbohydrates are essential.

Pre-workout boost: Consume a nutritious protein shake with carbohydrates one hour before your run.

Stay hydrated: Drink enough water to improve performance and minimize dehydration during your run.

Carbohydrate intake: For every hour of running, consume 30 to 60 grams of carbohydrates through sports drinks to maintain performance.

Post-run protein: Ensure you consume 20 to 40 grams of high-quality protein within 30 minutes of finishing your run, regardless of the distance covered.
