The People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province recently sent a dispatch to departments, branches, localities, and the provincial planning consultancy alliance, requesting the urgent implementation of the contents of the Quang Nam Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.
The People’s Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to urgently update and synthesize reports, maps, and diagrams related to the Quang Nam Provincial Planning dossier for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, to be submitted to the People’s Committee before August 15.
At the same time, they are to absorb the opinions of the central ministries and branches to finalize the draft plan for the realization of the provincial planning and soon advise the People’s Committee to submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval.
Previously, the Planning of Quang Nam Province for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050, had been approved.
Specifically, by 2030, Quang Nam aims to become a relatively developed province in the country; an important growth pole in the Central – Highlands region; with a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; developing aviation, seaports, logistics services, tourism, automotive mechanical industry, manufacturing mechanics, and electricity on a regional scale.
At the same time, the province will form a national-level center for the pharmaceutical industry, deep processing of agricultural and forestry products, and silica; have high-quality vocational training institutions; possess a culturally rich identity; have most of its medical and educational facilities meet national standards; and have a synchronous urban system, closely linked to rural areas.
The average GRDP growth rate for the period of 2021-2030 is expected to reach over 8%/year.
Notably, in the period leading up to 2030, the province will invest in Chu Lai Airport to meet international airport standards with a scale of grade 4F. Quang Nam Seaport will be upgraded to a type I seaport capable of receiving vessels of up to 50,000 DWT. 100% of the national highways, provincial roads, and important transport axes connecting functional areas and concentrated production areas will be upgraded and expanded according to the plan; more than 60% of the main roads in urban areas will be invested and completed.
Internal waterway transportation will be smooth and meet channel standards, especially the inland waterways on the Truong Giang, Co Co, Thu Bon, and Vinh Dien rivers. A number of intelligent transport types will also be formed.
By 2050, Quang Nam aims to become a centrally-governed city
Looking towards 2050, Quang Nam will strive for comprehensive, modern, and sustainable development, strongly imbued with the cultural characteristics of the people of Quang Nam; aim to become a centrally-governed city, making significant contributions to the central budget; and be an important international tourist center, maximizing the value of world cultural heritages and the world biosphere reserve.
The economic structure will be harmonious and reasonable, with high autonomy and competitiveness. The infrastructure system will be synchronous and modern. Socio-economic development will be balanced between urban and rural areas, adapting to climate change, and the environment will be of good quality. The Human Development Index and people’s income will be high, and life will be happy. National defense, security, and sovereignty over land, sea, and island borders will be firmly maintained, and social order and safety will be ensured.
Thus, if Quang Nam becomes a centrally-governed city, the Central region will have three centrally-governed cities in a row: Thua Thien – Hue (expected to become a centrally-governed city in 2025), Da Nang, and Quang Nam (in the future).
Quang Nam, re-established on January 1, 1997, is a province in the Central Coast region, about 759 km north of Hanoi and about 971 km south of Ho Chi Minh City. It shares a border of over 157 km with Sekong Province, Laos.
Quang Nam enjoys favorable conditions for economic and cultural relations and exchanges with other localities in the country and neighboring countries. The province is also one of the very few localities in the country with an airport, seaport, railway, and national highway; with two subordinate cities; with both mountains and sea, boasting a 125 km coastline; and home to two world cultural heritages, the My Son Sanctuary and the ancient town of Hoi An, as well as the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve.
According to a report by the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province, in the first six months of 2024, the economic growth rate increased by 2.7%. The economy grew positively in all three sectors: agriculture, trade and services, and industry.
Specifically, the industry-construction sector grew by 4.7% over the same period. The industry sector increased by 4.4%, with the processing and manufacturing industry making the highest contribution, up 12%; the construction sector rose by 6.1%. The industrial production index increased by 5.8%; of which, the processing and manufacturing industry index increased by 7.8%.
The scale of Quang Nam’s economy reached nearly VND 59,000 billion, ranking 26th out of 63 provinces and cities; 7th out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coastal regions; and 3rd out of 5 provinces in the key economic region of Central Vietnam (after Da Nang and Binh Dinh).
Territory-based credit policy in Ho Chi Minh City shows nearly 39% growth
Credit programs, not only support and assist the poor and vulnerable, who are the main subjects of policies in Ho Chi Minh City, with capital for production and business to create livelihoods and employment opportunities, but also play a significant role in the direction of sustainable economic development, economic growth, and social security ensured by the Government.
Looking back at meaningful credit policies
Results in overcoming obstacles, recovery, and business growth, as well as macroeconomic stability, are greatly influenced by credit and policy credit.
