This National Day, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to complete and open to traffic several important transport projects and structures.
Rach Cay Kho Bridge to Open
Specifically, in the southern part of the city, the Rach Cay Kho Bridge project involves the construction of a 485-meter-long, 12.5-meter-wide bridge spanning the Ong Lon Canal, connecting Pham Hung Street in Binh Chanh District with Nguyen Binh Street in Nha Be District.
The project, which broke ground in 2018 with a total investment of approximately VND 500 billion, was initially scheduled for completion in 2023 but faced delays due to land clearance issues.
With land clearance completed by the end of 2023, the main items of the project have now been finished, and the bridge is expected to open to traffic on the upcoming National Day.
The bridge will provide convenient travel for locals, shortening their commute. Residents of the two localities will no longer have to rely on ferries or take a roundabout route of nearly 10 kilometers.
