2024 Mitsubishi Triton: Rumored Launch Date and Specs

There’s a buzz in the air as sales consultants reveal they are taking deposits for the new Mitsubishi Triton, expected to launch in mid-September. Although Mitsubishi Vietnam has not confirmed this information, consultants are offering attractive incentives for early birds. These include free genuine oil and oil filter changes for five years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, adhering to Mitsubishi Vietnam’s periodic maintenance recommendations.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton Athlete, spotted at the Bangkok International Motor Show, was also seen at an emission testing center.

To avail of this offer, customers must place their deposits between August 12 and September 10, 2024. Vehicle purchases will be completed between September and October 2024, further confirming the September launch timeline.

What’s New with the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton?

Previously, the new Mitsubishi Triton was spotted in Hanoi during transportation and at an emission testing center. The 2024 model marks a significant evolution, featuring a new platform and larger dimensions. Its design has also undergone a notable transformation, particularly the front end, with new lighting and grille elements.

Based on the leaked images so far, predictions suggest the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton will offer at least three variants. The top-of-the-line Athlete trim is expected to feature a distinctive orange color option, complemented by black accents on elements such as the wheel arches and wheels. The remaining two variants will likely sport distinct wheel designs for easy differentiation.

If it follows the suit of other Southeast Asian markets, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton in Vietnam will likely feature a new steering wheel, a 10-inch floating display, modern climate control buttons, USB-C ports, and a manual handbrake. In contrast, its key rival, the Ford Ranger, boasts an electronic parking brake.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton in Vietnam is expected to offer a similar powertrain to other Southeast Asian markets: a 2.4-liter diesel engine producing 184 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. However, it remains unclear if Vietnam will receive the 204-horsepower turbocharged engine option available in Thailand. The transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed automatic, and there may also be a manual version. As usual, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive will be available.

Additionally, the 2024 Triton is anticipated to incorporate advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and automatic high beams/headlights.
