On August 15, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam led an inspection team to review the progress of the Van Phong – Nha Trang Expressway project.
The investor, contractor, and Khanh Hoa provincial authorities pledged to resolve obstacles and accelerate construction to aim for an early launch by April 30, 2025, eight months ahead of schedule.
According to Project Management Unit 7 (the project investor), contractors have mobilized 30 construction units. The project has achieved a production value of VND 4,704 billion out of VND 7,132 billion, reaching 66% of the contract value.
Land clearance for the main expressway route is almost complete. However, approximately 2.4 km remain unfinished due to technical infrastructure issues and local land clearance complications.
To meet the goal of completing the project eight months ahead of the Prime Minister’s directive, the Project Management Unit 7 requested the Ministry of Transport to urge the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province to direct the People’s Committees of Ninh Hoa Town and Van Ninh District to resolve pending issues and hand over the site to the contractor before August 30.
At the inspection, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam praised the Van Phong – Nha Trang Expressway project for having the best progress among the 12 expressway components under construction nationwide. He urged the investor and contractor to take advantage of favorable weather conditions to accelerate construction and ensure the project’s completion by April 30, 2025.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam requested the provincial authorities to direct local authorities and related departments to actively coordinate and support the investor in acquiring the remaining land for construction.
The Van Phong – Nha Trang Expressway project has a total length of approximately 83.35 km, starting at Km 285+000 at the intersection of Co Ma Tunnel in Van Tho Commune, Van Ninh District, and ending at Km 368+000, connecting with National Highway 27C in Dien Tho Commune, Dien Khanh District. It will also connect with the Nha Trang – Cam Lam Expressway.
The total investment for the project is estimated at VND 11,808 billion. The total land clearance area is over 616.2 hectares, affecting 2,792 households, of which approximately 280 households need resettlement. Additionally, 20 technical infrastructure systems must be relocated, including 164 intersection points.
