This was affirmed by the Investor’s Council for the acceptance of the 500kV power line project, Circuit 3, Nam Dinh I – Pho Noi section, at a meeting on the afternoon of August 16, 2024.

The Nam Dinh I – Pho Noi 500kV power line project is a component project of the 500kV Circuit 3 project. The project is approximately 127 km long, passing through the provinces of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen, with 334 foundation positions and 144 line anchor spans. The project was implemented from January 18, 2024, and up to now, the work has been basically completed.

Once completed, the project will help reduce the load and prevent overloading of existing 500 kV power lines, ensuring the N-1 criterion, especially when the transmission capacity is high according to the North-Central interface when hydroelectric plants in the North have low output. The power line will also improve transmission stability on the North-Central interface and, together with the Quang Trach – Quynh Luu – Thanh Hoa – Nam Dinh I power line sections, contribute to transmitting power from sources in the North-Central region to the load center in the North.

According to the leader of the Northern Power Projects Management Board (NPMB), the project implementation faced many challenges due to the densely populated area, and it was difficult to secure a construction access road.

The project passes through many areas of ponds, fields, and crosses many large rivers, so the weak geology required the construction of pile foundations. In addition, due to the large number of anchor spans, there are many double-pole positions, which makes the construction take more time.

However, as of August 16, 2024, the foundation, earthing, and steel poles have been constructed according to the approved design and closely monitored during construction, ensuring quality and technical requirements.

The conductors, lightning protection wires, optical cables, and accessories have been installed according to the approved design and the manufacturer’s instructions, closely monitored during construction to ensure quality according to the approved design requirements. The line corridor basically ensures safe distances.

NPMB has organized the construction of the project in accordance with the approved design documents, compiled a complete set of project completion documents, and conducted acceptance of the work items in accordance with the provisions of the law.

At the meeting of the Investor’s Council for the acceptance of the 500kV power line project, Circuit 3, Nam Dinh I – Pho Noi section, the leader of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) said: The Nam Dinh I – Pho Noi 500kV power line project has completed the construction according to the approved design documents and conducted acceptance in accordance with the current regulations of the State on construction quality management, ensuring conditions for putting the project into use.

The project is ready for energization to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, as directed by the Prime Minister.

EVNNPT’s Deputy General Directors, Nguyen Ngoc Tan and Bui Van Kien, acknowledged the efforts of the Northern Power Projects Management Board, the project management unit, and the construction units for overcoming difficulties in construction conditions and unpredictable weather to bring the project to completion.

According to EVNNPT’s leadership, there are still some minor issues, but they do not affect the energization. NPMB will coordinate with related units to address these issues before handing over the project.

At the same time, EVNNPT requested that NPMB coordinate with relevant units to ensure the safe energization of the project.
