“Google Grants $1.5 Million to Vietnam’s Fulbright University to Advance AI Research and Education”

This grant, highlighted during the exchange between Mr. Jeff Dean and the students of Fulbright University Vietnam and AI enthusiasts nationwide, will boost the development of advanced AI education programs, including research and scholarships at Vietnam’s first liberal arts university.

As AI continues to transform global industries, Fulbright University Vietnam has proactively prepared with a comprehensive AI strategy to train innovative leaders for an AI-driven future. The university has planned to enhance AI training across various academic programs while integrating AI knowledge into non-STEM fields to ensure that all students are equipped with the skills needed to navigate the technological advancements shaping the future.

The grant from Google will be utilized to enhance AI education at Fulbright University Vietnam. With the strategic partnership of the New Turing Institute, Vietnam’s leading AI training, research, and startup center, the university will promote initiatives such as AI instruction, AI integration across all academic programs, development of AI-related majors and minors, and foundational courses to equip students with AI application skills and build a strong faculty team.

This collaboration demonstrates Fulbright University Vietnam’s vision to bridge the gap between higher education and societal needs, leveraging technology to educate a generation of leaders prepared to tackle global challenges.

At the ceremony, Dr. Scott Frizen, President of Fulbright University Vietnam, emphasized that the application of new technologies, guided by human intelligence, will bring effective approaches to modern education. AI in education has revolutionized traditional learning methods, and the fusion of AI with today’s digital learning systems creates a wholly new concept of learning.

Therefore, Fulbright University Vietnam will take the lead in applying information technology and AI to teaching to maximize its effectiveness and impact.

It will also foster interdisciplinary collaboration to collectively address challenges and achieve the most effective use of this globally significant technology.
