A recent report suggests that Apple is planning to produce more iPhone 16 Pro Max units compared to other iPhone 16 models in 2024. According to The Elec, Apple is expected to manufacture a total of 90.1 million iPhone 16 units this year, based on the number of components supplied to its supply chain.
Of these, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will account for the highest production share with 33.2 million units (37%), followed by the iPhone 16 Pro at 26.6 million (30%). In contrast, the iPhone 16 Plus will only see a production run of 5.8 million units (6%), while the standard iPhone 16 is expected to reach 24.5 million (27%).
This indicates that Apple is prioritizing the production of its Pro models, particularly the iPhone 16 Pro Max, to maximize revenue. Despite the iPhone 16 Plus commanding a higher price than the standard iPhone 16, its lower production volume suggests that Apple may be considering replacing this model with the iPhone 17 Air next year.

The iPhone 16 series includes four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 16 is expected to start at $799, the iPhone 16 Plus at $899, the iPhone 16 Pro at $1,099 (with a minimum storage capacity of 256GB), and the iPhone 16 Pro Max at $1,199. This indicates that only the iPhone 16 Pro will see a price increase compared to its predecessor. However, this model will feature a periscope lens, offering 5x optical zoom.
Additionally, both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with a new 48MP ultra-wide camera and the 3nm A18 Pro application processor. Both the standard and Pro iPhone 16 models will feature 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence.
