Locals in the mountainous Phuoc Son district of Quang Nam province have recently expressed awe over a range of uniquely-shaped rocky mountains in Phuoc Nang commune.

This majestic mountain range is located about 2km from the Ho Chi Minh road and more than 10km southwest of Kham Duc town center.

According to local residents, the mountain range used to be hidden underground, with only a few parts exposed but obscured by trees. In 2018, when the Nuoc Che Hydropower Project was implemented, a road was built to channel water from the main dam to the turbine, revealing the mountain’s face with its fascinatingly stacked rocks.

The nearly 500-meter-long mountain range has the Dak Che stream running below and a forest covering its top.

Each stone pillar stands at almost 5 meters tall, lined up next to each other along the road.

These pillars are vertically arranged, with cross-sections in the shape of quadrilaterals, hexagons, or circles.

Ho Van Khu, Chairman of Phuoc Nang People’s Committee, shared that because the mountain was recently exposed, it remains untouched and unknown to many. Occasionally, only a few locals come to visit and then bathe in the nearby stream.

Mr. Khu also shared that in the future, the locality plans to capitalize on the mountain range’s majestic beauty to develop tourism.
